The 'VoiceTrack' tab (Shift+F6) is used to record voice tracks (spoken contributions)
that can then be inserted directly into the playlist or On-Air list.

Prerequisite:
The VoiceTrack tab must have an FTP directory assigned (see 'FTP / SFTP > Assignment').
If no directory is assigned, recording is aborted with an error message.
The breadcrumb bar shows the currently open directory;
previously recorded files appear in the file list below.

VU Meter:
Above the file list is a two-channel VU meter (stereo: L top, R bottom).
It shows the microphone input level on a logarithmic dBFS scale in three colour zones:
green (quiet), yellow (loud) and red (risk of clipping).
A white peak-hold line marks the most recently reached peak level and holds briefly
before slowly falling. The VU meter is active only during recording and can be
switched on or off in the settings (F10, 'Extended' tab).

Starting a recording:
Press Ctrl+R or click the 'Record' button. Recording begins immediately
in the audio format configured in the Audio settings (OGG, MP3 or WAV).
The VU meter shows the microphone input level during recording.

Stopping a recording:
Press Spacebar or click 'Record' again. The recording is automatically named
'VT - yyyy-mm-dd_hh-nn-ss.mp3' (or .ogg or .wav) and uploaded to the
VoiceTrack directory on the FTP server.
The new file then appears automatically selected in the file list
and is immediately playable in the integrated player.
If there is no FTP connection when recording ends, the file is only saved locally
and not uploaded.

Position display:
The number field at the top shows the amount of data recorded so far (in bytes)
during recording. During playback in the player, it shows the current playback
position and the total length of the file (both in bytes).

Recording settings:
Format (OGG/MP3/WAV), recording volume and input device are configured
in the settings (F10) under 'Audio settings'.
