Playing music from a remote server is not recommended as network latency will be high and it's very likely that you will experience gaps between music tracks. Typically, Dropbox or similar service is used to synchronize remote folder with a local one, and then tracks are played from a local folder.

Not sure what the issue is here as we have our RadioBoss machines pulling files from a NAS Box i7, 3,0GHZ, 16GB Ram, Win10Pro 64bit. Most of the common files the 4x RB PC's draw from the NAS Box are downloaded onto the NAS and hosted which are, news and sport files each hour and the like.
We don't experience any network drop out or issues
It works 100%
The PC running RB is free to draw external stream feeds from outside sources. Very little is hosted on the actual PC running RB, they are HP i5 2.8MHZ 8GB Ram 128SSHD Win10Pro 64Bit
They each port out to our streaming server
