Creating a file type will not make it auto insert.
There are different ways to automatically add intro before a track:
Use the Auto Intro: https://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/auto-intro.htm
Create a playlist using Playlist Generator...
Yes, all tracks in the event will have the same title. You can create different events, or, alternatively, create a playlist with URL and other items, in this case you will be able to set the title for URL only.
Essentially it works like this, but the list is shuffled first. In any case, each track is selected the same amount of times (with a minor exception - depending on how many ad blocks are there, some tracks may be selected exactly one time more than others).
This has no difference, no matter what sources are used and what filters, the category is initialized and the result is simply a list of tracks that is later used to create a playlist. So, a per-genre library, or a big library with genre filter applied, are completely equal.

I see, the Ad Scheduler has limited support for the templates. Currently, it only supports those variables: %n, %d, %h, %m. We'll extend this in the next update to allow specifying a year, a month, etc.
When you start it using the scheduled events, variables look like ?yyyy not %yyyy - it's described here: https://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/scheduler_options.htm
Currently the Ads Scheduler works this way: it shuffles the ads list and selects all the tracks; then once all tracks are selected, it re-shuffles the list and selects again. There should be no "favorite" tracks this way as each track is used.
When you add a stream using the Playlist->Add URL menu, it will allow you to set the streaming title:
When you schedule it, the select URL window will not have the "Set broadcast title" field because in this case you set it in the event instead:
You shouldn't mark them as a voice track, also, for Auto Intro, it doesn't really matter - it does not check any file type parameters.
When you configure the Auto Intro rules, you set where the tracks should play.
Basic: you create an event for each playlist to start when needed: https://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/scheduling_playback.htm
Advanced: you create one (or 2-3) of events, configure multiple start time/repeats, and utilize the file name templates to make it start different playlists based on...
Overlapping is controlled by the crossfade settings: https://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/crossfades.htm
If you want to create a structured playlist, and for the case when one of the files (news) is missing, do not play anything, you can use the Playlist Generator...
When you select an URL for an event, there will be no "Broadcasting title" field in the URL input window, because for an event, it's a bit different - the streaming title can be controlled by the "Use event name as a streaming title" option.
When you add an URL to the playlist, you can set its streaming title as well - if the title is set (the title field is not empty) then those titles will be sent to the listeners (not the actual track titles from the stream).
