Access Read Violation

Hey Djsoft,
I really hate to be annoying  :(

I had this message pop up all over the place today, and didn't notice it until I got home from work.

Access violation at address 004058F8 in module 'radioboss.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFFB

I've noticed it's because of the scheduled events.. because in the report window (to the bottom left of RadioBoss) it shows the scheduled events being scheduled, but there's no record of them playing. I also tried to delete the event, and it gives me the same message.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with the fact that I have my library (imaging/songs) on an external USB hard drive. However... my songs are running fine.

I'm currently copying my library over to the local drive of this machine so that I can see if this alleviates the issue. Just thought you should know about it.

Thanks for everything!

Maybe there was an error reading files from USB drive which lead to this error... But it's less likely. Possible bug in RadioBOSS. Please let me know if this happens again.

Sure thing!

Also, I want to ask you about AutoDJ interrupt in the broadcaster. Seems as if RadioBoss doesn't allow for use of a colon in a password... This is required for the AutoDJ interrupt. Is this something that can be added? -If you need more info on the AutoDJ Interrupt, let me know.

Thank you! =)

Hello,

Yes, please tell more about AutoDJ feature. Of course it can be added (anything can be added :)).

AutoDJ runs on the stream server directly. You usually get it included in the stream host package. Like, they'll give you X amount of gigs to upload songs, and then you can make a playlist, or run it random and it just runs straight out from the stream server itself.

I have 1gig of space because I'm using it as a backup only (in case my stream machine goes down for any reason).

With CPanel, which is the backend I'm using with my stream server, there is an auto interrupt feature, which detects when a live source is trying to connect (while AutoDJ is running). It then fades out the currently playing element, and switches over to the live source that is connected. When the live source disconnects, AutoDJ resumes and fades back in with the current running element - all while not dumping a single listener!

I used this feature when I worked for an internet comedy station where we had live shows each night of the week. It because an arduous task to be home, or near a computer to "kick" the server we had running so the live shows could connect, then reconnect when the shows ended. This nifty little feature saved a LOT of time and was REAL smooth.

The problem I am facing, is that the setup of AutoDJ requires a password consisting of a combination username:password (setup in AutoDJ Management as a Live DJ. It's pretty much just a set of users to give them access to interrupt the AutoDJ) .. when AutoDJ sees this connection, it switches over to the live source (vs. the method of trying to connect to the stream server directly, and the encoder not being allowed to connect because there is something else using the stream server (which would be AutoDJ)).

So, my encoder would be setup normally, with the stream server IP address, but with a different port (as that's what port the AutoDJ Interrupt feature looks at for incoming connections) and the password would be setup like this:

studio:dj1

(studio being the username, dj1 being the password)

My issue is that RadioBoss' encoder keeps telling me that I have invalid characters in the password (which I'm going to assume is the colon).

This would be perfect for me to use in case of any emergencies, I won't lose listeners because of dead air. So, for me it's pretty much just a failsafe.

If you need any more information about it, I can get you in touch with my stream server hosting guy, and he might be able to better inform you about it.

Thanks for your help DJSoft! It's always appreciated!

Note:
this AutoDJ Interrupt is NOT available in CentovaCast!

I have a friend that streams via CentovaCast, and it has been reported that it does not offer this option.

Hello!

Thanks for explanation!
Feature like this is available in Loudcaster (http://www.loudcaster.com). It's called BackupDJ afaik. RadioBOSS works fine with it.
Also, the passwords with ":" should also work... What error message is?

It seems as though this may have been my fault after all!

My server guy just got in touch with me, and let me know my AutoDJ was ready. As I tried to switch my server settings and connect, I ran into another problem which he helped me out with ... but it was just a matter of restarting my server/auto dj and now everything works great.

Thanks so much for all of your help DJSoft!
