It really depends on what you're trying to achieve.

AI Chatbots are designed for conversations. They follow predefined flows or use NLP to answer queries—think customer support, FAQs, or lead generation.
AI Agents, on the other hand, go beyond chatting. They can take actions, make decisions, and even interact with multiple systems autonomously.
So, “better” depends on complexity. For simple interactions → chatbot. For automation → AI agent.

From a business perspective, I’ve used both.

AI agents automated backend workflows like scheduling, CRM updates, and email follow-ups
AI agents definitely bring more ROI—but they’re also more complex and expensive to build. Chatbots are usually reactive, while agents are proactive.
