Auto-Playlist Generator Options

Hello,

We are currently using the Playlist Generator and scheduling it to auto-generate our station playlists in two ways:

1. With an 'easy listening' music format from midnight to 6pm > 18 hours of music auto-generated at midnight.

2. With a 'Pop' music format from 6pm to midnight > 6 hours of music auto-generated at 6pm.


This works quite well and saves us a lot of time having to schedule things manually.

However, the more we play with this technology the more we realise that some clever tagging of the mp3 files could give us much better control and variety in our playlists.  So we are keen to put more and more of our time into the mp3 tagging process to make our music library smarter and smarter.

Hence, using Playlist Generator > Step 2 > Filter by comment - we should be able to do some smart filtering to produce some good customised playlists.


Is it possible to add some extra functionality to that section so logic OR and AND functions are possible ?

This may let us filter by comments such as the following to produce some nice listening choices:

(1970 OR 1980 OR 1990 OR 2000) AND Jazz

(1970 OR 1980 OR 1990 OR 2000) AND Pop

(1930 OR 1940 OR 1950 OR 1960) AND Jazz


Is this possible ?

Or, is it your intention to use Playlist Generator Pro to achieve such features ?

Filtering like this is possible in the Playlist Generator Pro, you should try it.
It doesn't allow to use brackets, but if you enter
"1970 OR 1980 OR 1990 OR 2000 AND Jazz"
to the comment filter, it will select all tracks which have "Jazz" in the comment and one of wither 1970, 1980, ...

Sounds good.  Do you have any instructions for Playlist Generator Pro ?  I have tried using it before but was unsure about how to use it.
