Playlist duration and wrong play time estimation

Hi Dmitry,

We are now extensively using the track tool to set Start, Intro, Outro, Mix and End points. The PlGenPro does not use those values when generation playlist ending up with much shorter playlist than expected. Also in the RB interface, play time estimation is also wrong for the same reason. We usually place Start point at around 30 seconds and  End point 30 to 50 seconds before real end of the file.

We are currently inserting voice track using the sceduler at specific time. But we now would like to be able to instert voice tracks when creating the playlist with the PlGenPro. This way we can provide early in the morning the playlist where voice track are insertied. The guy creating the voice track would then be able to mentionned what track just being played and what are next tracks.
To achive that we need a much better prediction of what is being played and at what time so we can insert voice track at expected time.

Another feature we would like to be able to achive is to have a playlist finishing at an exact specific time.
Exemple:  for inserting hourly news break (or an hourly jingle) it would be great that the last track of the hour ends at x:59:45. Just the time for playing a short jingle + buffer compensation.
Currently we can schedule the News break at precise time but it can start anywhere in the current playing track that does not sound professional !

I asked that too before.
Dmitry told me that the team of RB will improve track time calculation in playlist.

We also have a lot of productions wich must start at specific time (sharp). We also use Line.IN (RRA now, but in past we rebrocasted BBC) for 14-16 times a day.

Indeed, we need too a better way for (sharp) calculation time for tracks in playlist.

The precise time calculation could increase the time it takes for Playlist Generator to create a playlist (it could become 3-5 times slower)... But the quality is more important than speed, so it's OK I think.

"Playling time left" countdown timer will be improved as well.

Yes, that's what sweepers are for and I'm sure this feature will be added to RB soon. Eg. when a scheduled block is supposed to play soon, instead of starting next music track, it'll start 10-20 second sweeper, and then start a block.

BTW, in Russia it's OK to stop music in the middle and start commercial block or news :)
