Problem with voice track Record

I was recording voice tracks and inserting them ok until these last beta updates.  I use a usb Plantronics headset and microphone together and everthing has been working great until recently, now when I record the sound is garbled badly and sounds like on wrong speed.  Any ideas what I can do to change it.  I have not changed anything from the way it was working before with direct sound on Windows Xp.

The voice track feature wasn't changed at all in the 4.8... Strange that it suddenly stopped working.
Please try the latest beta 4.8.0.7 which had just been released. A quick test here shown no problems at all.

Just tried going back to 4.7.7.1 and it works great... I will try the new beta and let you know.  Thanks for the Reply..  Thanks also for all your hard work on this software..

Still not working correctly with 4.8.0.7.  Sound is very garbled.  Attached is screen shot of Mic In

I forgot to add that the mic works when push to talk MIC button now on lower right of screen is pressed and audio goes through sound card.

Yes, you're right, it's a bug in DirectSound, the next version will have a fix for it.
Your fix won't work for David as he uses Windows XP - WASAPI not supported there.

I have just noticed also that in Track Tool the BPM does not work anymore and gives an Access violation at address 0000000 Read of address 0000000
It was finding most bpm on wav and mp3 in the non beta versions.

DirectSound working great in 4.8.0.8 beta now.
