RadioCaster 2.4.2 Losing Connection

I've noticed in the past week, the log errors on my RadioCaster 2.4.2 are indicating fairly regular disconnection, and then reconnects aprx 12 seconds later.  This typically happens at 12:00 AM (PDT/US), but has also occured a few times during the day.

Only thing I can presume is (1) the RadioCaster encoder is purging buffers, or (2) more likely the distance or reliability factor with using a UK streaming service.

Any clues greatly appreciated.

Some ISPs break the connection every 24 hours to perform billing operations. You can call your ISP and ask if this is the case. If it's a problem with the server, then you need to change it, if those disconnects are critical.

You can get a free server to test here: https://www.radioboss.fm/plans/ (click one of the Trial buttons). If both your server and the trial server disconnect at the same time, then the server you use is OK and the problem is either ISP or some software on your PC (e.g. firewall) that performs disconnect.

Thank you for your guidance.

After further testing, and switching stream providers, I have determined

1.  my isp (Comcast Cable) periodicaly updates the modem firmware (un-announced)
2.  when isp interrupts RadioCaster connection, the Shoutcast (Centova) auto dj takes over
3.  something is now preventing RadioCaster from re-connecting.  Only way to reconnect is to manually stop the auto dj...which then disconnects all the listeners.  I thought Shoutcast V2 was supposed to prevent that.
4.  Only odd thing I can see is an error box when closing RadioCaster to restart.

"Access Violation at 073A3E00 in module 'caster.exe'"

I have re-installed RadioCaster but still have the error.

I'm using Win 7 Pro x64 with intel core 2 duo and plenty of ram.

Thanks for any further thoughts.

Yes, if you use DJ accounts, then you will not have to stop AutoDJ manually, please see this page for more information: https://www.radioboss.fm/support/liveautodj-transition/

Please click Details button in the error message box and send bug report to us. Do you use any DSP plugins?

Thanks Dmitry for your guidance and patience.

There seems to have been a prevailing fog in my mind preventing me from grasping some crucial details.  For any other newbies interested, here's what I was missing.

1.  Yes, I was using a dj account, and only one with my name (as I am presently the only operator).
2.  Thanks to you, I finally understood the need for a unique password in that dj account.  After correcting the RadioCaster encoder to reflect the auto dj's unique dj account password, I restarted the (shoutcast) server and success.  The live stream from automation grabbed the stream via RadioCaster codec.
3.  This tells me it should behave as designed now and slip smoothly from live to auto dj and back again, (when needed) without dumping listeners connections.

What a relief when things work as they should.  Even better when I know why.

Thanks again!
