Skipping tracks in playlist

I have noticed since upgrading to Radioboss 5 (randomly) tracks in a playlist will start to play then suddenly skip to the next track. This is happening frequently enough that a 4 hour, 8 hour, etc. playlist will end up running short.

Is there a solution for this?

Thank you in advance.

Could you please also send Crossfade window screenshot (in the menu Settings->Crossfades).

Issue still ongoing.. Any ideas that would explain these occurrences..  :'(
We're checking on this issue and currently can't confirm it. Are there any error messages in the log when it happens? Please send part of the log when a track was skipped.

No error messages are reported. At this time I have rolled back the program to 4.9.1.0 to see if this will correct this issue since every playlist has run short in 5.0.0.9.

Please let us know how the previous version performs.

I'm reporting that tracks are still skipping in the RadioBoss 4.9.1.0 and 5. I have attached a screenshot to help you see my concern.

If you play those tracks again, they play to the end, or are still skipped after several seconds?
In the first post you've said that tracks are started to skip after you installed v5, which meant that they played fine in RB 4.9, but in the last post you said the tracks are skipping in RB 4.9 as well... Maybe something has changed on your computer which now leads to incorrect RB operation - did you install any new software (antivirus?) or maybe you added/changed something in hardware?

I'd also suggest you to perform virus check.

All the tracks are full length in the playlist that are generated. And yes, the tracks did play fine in 4.9 when our operating was Windows XP. We have a new computer running Windows 8.1 and now we have this ongoing issue.

Moving back to the old operating system is not an option, so is there a possible fix for this issue.

We've tested RadioBOSS on Windows 8 and 8.1, and there were no problems like this, it works like on any other Windows version...

Is it a brand new PC with a lot of software pre-installed from manufacturer? If so, I'd suggest you to remove everything which you don't need, or do a clean system reinstall.

Possible bug...... with Windows 8.1

After completing every step suggested, we factory reset the our brand new computer. Windows 8 and Radioboss  4.9, 5.01, and 5.02 work seamlessly. (Tested for a period of 4 days)

Windows 8.1 and Radioboss 4.9, 5.01, or 5.02 are not in sync. In fact we have determined that Windows 8.1 is the culprit. While running Radioboss, Windows 8.1 will randomly drop our hard drive connection then reestablish it. So we updated to newer drivers. Same issue. And as mentioned in previous posts, Radioboss would still skips tracks, only playing the first 20sec or so then jumping to the next track in the playlist. (Days without incident: 4 hrs 32min).

Needless to say we are sticking with W8. To all others, this may be computer specific, but tread carefully with updating to Windows 8.1. This has cost us dearly.

Thanks for the information.

We've tested it in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 here and no issues have been found. I suppose that's hardware problem with your PC. A hard drive or SATA controller may be faulty. We'll run more tests just to make sure it still performs OK with all the latest updates etc.

hi ... we have the same problem. RB is running on a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition (Service Pack 2). Before we upgraded to 5.02 was for a long time RB 4.9 installed and everything went without problems.

the skip problems are only at the 5 version. all hardware mix options are disabled and also the silent detector turned off by default. otherwise, everything behaves the same as with dj solar.

we hope that you can resolve the problem quickly, because it remarkable even our listeners.

many thanks in advance

djsolar finally said that it's a problem with their system (Windows 8.1). We've tested RadioBOSS under Windows 8.1 as well as other Windows versions and were unable to reproduce the "skip" problem. Are you using any antivirus software? They usually cause trouble.

there is no AV or other software on the server, which could restrict the RB in its function. in some situations we have remedied the problem by a short reboot of the RB, but we will try the problem more accurately observed. as soon as we have news, we will get back once more .....
