Wow! I was surprised this new service!. :o
expected sometime this inclusion Wonza a server?
AAC to transmit and it can be possible to play the radio Through an integrated flash player on my website.
perhaps in the future, a stat would be helpful.
desert but I can not ask much and that is just in beta
whether to include these features, when released I will subscribe safely  :D

Including Wowza will raise the service prices, which I don't like to happen, at least for now...

You can already broadcast AAC (select AAC+ in RB encoder), it works fine. I hope your flash player will handle it with no problem.

Hey Djsoft

I have a request to add

my request is that you should add in a booking timestable service

so people can book timeslots on the shoutcast servers that they buy on your new service

thanks

ok, but I have understood that to run all flash players that play streaming in aac, require a transcoder rtmp

on the cost per server Wonza my current provider did this:
Wonza server installation cost $ 50 USD (One Time) + streaming service cost (Monthly)
Title: Re: RADIOBOSS.FM stream hosting [beta]

ok, but I have understood that to run all flash players that play streaming in aac, require a transcoder rtmp
jPlayer http://www.jplayer.org/ - they state their player can play AAC streams.

$50 Wowza package has some limitations, and as I remember for public hosting $1000 package required. And it will also require additional setup and configuration. Perhaps we'll do it in the future, for now I think the Shoutcast does its job well enough.

Ok, the encoder is now connected but the stream URL for listening from the interface does not work. I get a 404 error in winamp. The URL is : http://s1.radioboss.fm:9084/stream/1/

Title: Re: RADIOBOSS.FM stream hosting [beta]
Post by: djsoft on November 23, 2012, 05:51:04 AM
That's because you connected as Shoutcast v1 source, while hosting works in ShoutCast v2 mode only.

Copy-paste the settings from the Account page to RadioBOSS. In particular, you have to specify the stream ID in Server, eg.
s1.radioboss.fm:9084,1
Title: Re: RADIOBOSS.FM stream hosting [beta]
Post by: Christian on November 23, 2012, 06:42:26 AM
It's when I setup as "Public" server. When "Private" I can listen.
The issue is that I cannot login to the administration side to register to Shoutcast to create the Authhash!

Not sure on how the final service will be setup but here is my view. As a broadcaster it is important that the stream is available over http on port 80.
Many listeners listen at work in there office as it's a convenient way to access music. Companies firewall rules usually block major radio and musical services but they cannot block all "small" webradios. To go through most companies firewall you have to use http on port 80 has this mostly remains open even for streaming.

Giving port 80 to everyone requires unique IP for every user... But the point you've made is interesting, I'll take a note.

That is why I a curently using IceCast so all my streams are from same IP and on port 80.

So is RADIOBOSS.FM streaming working now?  I'm finally trying to setting up my account and just get Error 2100 (invalid password) msgs.  I've typed the password a half-dozen times, copied and pasted it, sent an email request to make sure I have the right password (it's still the same).  It just isn't working.

I've tried listening to other stations using the URL format
http://s1.radioboss.fm:9???/listen.pls?sid=1
(fill in the numbers) but nothing plays.  So is the streaming working?

It's working as far as I'm aware. Please send connection details you're using to support@djsoft.net I think we would be able to figure out what's going wrong.

Also try restarting server from the control panel.

Make sure you have StreamID in the server field, like this (note ,1 added):
s1.radioboss.fm:9???,1

Simplecast 2.51, connect and  show "streaming"

Make sure you're broadcasting using Shoutcast v2 mode (I'm not sure if Simplecast supports it).
You can also try RadioCaster: http://www.djsoft.net/enu/radiocaster_details.htm

Except for user-specific settings, all other server options are at their defaults. I think it should act like most of the other Shoutcast v2 servers out there...

According to logs, another source is connected to a stream. Connected source is your RadioBOSS Hosted instance - you should try turning it off and server will become available.

I was able to recover data access hosted radioboss :).
Disable transmission from there, now RadioCaster sends audio to the server.
But does not the link to listen to the radio.

Restart the server either fix the problem

You can try registering another account at radioboss.fm and check if it's working. Also open Statistics in RadioCaster and see if numbers of data encoded and data sent are equal.

RadioCaster status shows that data is being sent to the server (coded and sent the amount equals)

It's hard to tell what's wrong... The log seems fine and lll other accounts work fine too. The service will be updated soon allowing Shoutcast Admin access, I think it should solve the problem.

You may also try broadcasting using RadioBOSS.

so whats going to happen to my free shoutcast v2 server then after the new site launches
Title: Re: RADIOBOSS.FM stream hosting [beta]
Post by: djsoft on August 19, 2013, 03:48:13 AM
The free radioboss.fm will operate till at least October 01, 2013. But after that no free accounts will be available (there will be free trial accounts for 2 listeners).

The new version of radioboss.fm is better:
* Higher quality of service: as you see the free accounts sometimes fail to work (servers are down, slow, etc). We start to charge for it because it's hard to maintain high quality level for free - to keep it free we'll have to insert ads to streams and/or include ads on pages... Or just keep it free with no ads, but low quality... neither of those are the way I'd like this service to function.
* Added new features like autodj, better control panel, port 80 streaming.

RadioBOSS users, most likely, will have special offers for this server - eg. extended listener limits/lower prices.

The quick links page is good. The welcome email doesn't cover it all, since the parameters aren't handled the same way they are on the old site.

Also, does the new server support an MP3 stream as the old one did?  I have problems with ASX and some of the other streams on certain browsers.

Thanks.

If you can't connect, this may happen because you registered your account more than 2 weeks ago and it was inactive - those accounts are deleted automatically. You can login to your customer area: https://v2.radioboss.fm/whmcs/clientarea.php and check your stream hosting status.
Anyway, trial accounts are designed to just demonstrate the features, they are not supposed to be used for real world broadcasting. I'd suggest you to take the $5 plan if you want to use the fully-featured account.

Also, does the new server support an MP3 stream as the old one did?  I have problems with ASX and some of the other streams on certain browsers.
If you're talking about AutoDJ, then if you're using Shoutcast v2 you'll need MP3 License ($5), please see this page for the details: https://v2.radioboss.fm/features/auto-dj/
You don't need a license if you're using an Icecast server.
If you're broadcasting yourself, you can use MP3/OGG/AAC without any limitations and with any server type.

I've been off-the-air for a few hours, and I can't access http://s1.radioboss.fm.  Problems there?
The old version of radioboss.fm has been shut down (as was said in the first post in August 2013 "The current free version of radioboss.fm will be discontinued soon.") - I'm sorry the exact shutdown date hasn't been mentioned.
You can use the new https://v2.radioboss.fm for your streams. If features new control panel and has many features (and also more reliable). Plans start at $5/month. I'm sorry for the inconvenience...

I am broadcasting myself.  Which of the tunenin links supports MP3?  The ASX link will launch an MP3 player (after a security warning) in Windows, but neither that nor the QTL link will launch in Safari.  The old site supported MP3, which worked fine on a Mac/iPad/iPhone.

All of the links provide the stream in a format you're broadcasting in. File extension is not .mp3 because it's a playlist. .m3u, .asx, .qtl - are all playlists for different players and they contain the only entry: link to your stream.
You can also use a direct link to your stream if you like: http://s2.radioboss.fm:8430/stream

RadioBoss.  I send the artwork to Live365 in the comment section of the metadata, and use a HTTP Request to pass a string to Live365.  I don't see any similar syntax in the CentovaCast docs.

CentovaCast doesn't support this feature AFAIK. But it can search for artwork automatically using the online databases.

I hope this is the right place to post this as I can't find anywhere more appropriate.

I know Centovacast has a tick box on some installations to do crossfades/overlap.

The button is missing in my RadioBoss.FM console.

Is there a reason for this?

No, it's wasn't blocked on purpose - it looks like a bug, and some accounts are missing those settings. We're working to fix it.

Yea, they seem to support MP3, OGG and ACC.

I have a streaming talk site.  every show episode is blogged in Wordpress.  I want either embed a player in the blog (and autoplay) if the show is currently running live, or embed my podcast if the show is over.

Need to make that first piece work with Radioboss.fm.

Please open Quick Links in the control panel and save one of the playlists from the Tune-In links section to your hard drive. Open the saved playlist and you'll see the direct stream link there.

For convenience, the control panel will have the direct stream link included in the Quick Links section soon.

I think you should contact jPlayer support regarding this. You can try using tunein links (which are playlists) with other modes, maybe it'll work.

RadioBOSS only sends artworks to Shoutcast v2 server. Please let me know what your streaming login is (you can send it to support@radioboss.fm) - we'll check what could be wrong there.

Yeah, it seems to be.  The docs appear to support an mp3 mp4 or mp4a extension as well as xml, so I can give it the rss feed from my podcast provider.  Can I use any of those extensions from your stream?

You can try creating a simple Podcast XML and put your stream link there. For information on how to generate such an XML file, please see this link: http://www.podcast411.com/howto_1.html

It's also a good idea to ask Stitcher support how to properly add your stream.

That's strange. Network load was OK (lots of free bandwidth). Probably it was a problem with your ISP or somewhere in between.

Here's what Stitcher wants for live streams:

Quote
HI John, Stitcher's primary focus is podcasts, not live streams. This is our core competency and what most listeners use our app for and we have continue to develop and update.
However, we do make a number of live streams available as well. There are technical specifications that we need to support the files, but we can always test what you have!
Please send me the stream and the additional link station's stream (URL). Live streams will need to be mp3streaming files or shoutcast files to work on Stitcher.

Be sure to include bitrate,

So, which tunein link, if any, would work?

You can find the direct stream link in the Control Panel - Quick Links section.
For your account it'll be an MP3 shoutcast stream, exactly what Stitcher is asking about.

The trial account system has been changed and some "excluded" streams were removed... I'm sorry for that. But anyway, the trial accounts are now have a hard limit of 21/22 days, so if you need an account I'd suggest you to take a paid plan.

Hey djsoft

I'm afraid it's not possible anymore. All free trial accounts will be removed automatically.

You can take the $5 plan. If you pay for a year in advance, you'll get a discount.

How good is your v2 server Dmitry?

I'd say it's good enough, better than most out there. You can get a free trial and test it for 21 days, or you can get a paid plan - we offer 30 days money back in case you don't like the service.

The reason I'm asking is that I have v2 through my current server, and every 3 to 4 days, the auto DJ system fails to recognize my connection.

Can you possibly add more to auto DJ storage?

I've just checked stream hosting ticket history and your issue seems to be already fixed.

Please contact support@radioboss.fm if the problem still exists.

Well, turns out they did give me a free Icecast server back in August to see if it would fix the problem, and sure enough it did.  The only problem I had with it was when Centova did an update, because the logs would disappear, so I had to keep resetting the system.  So I took my other 2 streams to Icecast, and they've been working well.  The only problem I have now is the auto DJ on the one stream, but it'll be a couple weeks before they can fix it since the owner of the company is on vacation.

I see that you canceled your radioboss.fm streaming server, so streaming with it would not be possible.
