Where is TAG EDITOR?

To use all the time "Track tool..." to edit a tag is... Tag editor is very usefull for "File Types...", Identifiers etc.

Pfuaiiiiii...

Very disappointed

I don't know if I'll continue to be involved in RB

.......

A lot of bugs. Stupid "search feature" renamed my folder when I searched a file name...

Today I don't want to do anything... I want Tag Editor back  >:(

If you right click on the track in the playlist you can access the "track tool" to edit the tags ?

Of course, but is time consuming...

pety,
Tag editor is still there :) You can edit fields in the Track Info panel under the playlist and when finished just hit Enter - the tag will be saved. Please see screenshot attached.

A lot of bugs. Stupid "search feature" renamed my folder when I searched a file name...
Can you please provide more information about this? What Search feature it is - search in File Explorer, Music Library search or search in the playlist?

Don't like it...
Today I will do something else...
How do you think that I will make another training for 11 people to understand all changes in GUI. Uf, I am tired with RB. Nobody makes so much changes ones... Your problem. I will take in to account the loses and rewards if I will give it up RB.

Have a nice day

If the name of the track is different than tags now I cannot copy from tag editor the name of artist or parts of name of the file...

Must admit I missed that one - it is not obvious that you can edit the fields - perhaps "box them" or add a "SAVE" button rather than just hitting return ?

Hi Pety

You can copy and paste into the new tag editor BUT I can see that there is no "file name" present.

As this is the FIRST Beta release of 4.9 changes may occur as a result of users feedback

Hope that they will put it back... For objectiv reasons we hard use Tag Editor. In past I asked for that improvement like in winamp to copy from file name in tag editor. They did it, I was happy but now they killed it. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND. I FEEL KILLED MYSELF TOO.

As Dave already mentioned, it's just a first beta version release. Things will change over time. I don't understand all that negative feedback from you... Nothing bad happened yet :)

Yeah, maybe. It definitely looks like read-only.

the new tag editor, I find a good place. I need him too often (as we all do)

It's also beta test, it may still do so much.

Why it's ugly? I've been using RB 4.9 for about 2 months already and when I started RB 4.8 yesterday I found that 4.8 looks ugly compared to 4.9.
A minor feature is missing and you're ready to kill everyone... File name field will be brought back along with "Fill tag from filename" button.

Tag editor tab is removed and is not going to be returned.
New tag editor now exists under playlist and have the same features as the old one did... Except that it doesn't have Filename field.

done! I have to restart the radio boss as admin
It looks like that mp3 file access rights disallowed users to modify it. Instead of using RB as admin another solution would be to correct file permissions.

Might still be an idea for those who haven't  ;)

thinking out loud - I like this very much as I can set a different background color for schedules within schedules or a news feed etc.

I also like the idea of have the "currently running schedule" highlighted. I am not running the beta on the playout system so don't know what this looks like in practice. However the font is already set to BOLD in the schedule window so don't know how it wold look.

What would be very nice is to have a different background color for the "current playing schedule" - say green background with bold white font - what do you think ?

What you can do to see Filename field?

You can copy that piece of code from old Tag Editor (path) to paste it into the new one. Will you do that?
And to have the same characteristics (select, copy & paste).
If you will do that I'll be happy (!?).

Early mistakes found:
* When I delete a DSP is active, is activated
* In ADS Scheduler: Changing commercial tildes are lost (when scheduling)
I really like the changes in Interfas, all you need is like @pety, you can select the file path easier to generate the metadata.

Congratulations on the new version! :)

EDIT:
Another error:
API reference:
- Parameter inserttrack, works in a strange way:
example
(-1) Inserts the track at the beginning of the list
(-2) Insert the end of the track list
(-3) Inserts the track a song before the current track
(-4) Announces an error "List index out of bounds (-3)" (It's strange because it shows a number less than the entered)

Currently playing schedule (actually, it's the most recently launched event) is marked with a small red dot in the icon.
Also in the program title it shows the latest launched file name or command.

Looks like it is my fault - sorry  :-[

If you recall I stripped all tags except ID3V2.4 - looks like it stripped the replay gain in the process - Ok lets re "normalise" 40,000 tracks  :'(

However, I have found one problem. Album artwork with a PNG origin is not being displayed

Yes I know, but what I mean functional commands that bad.
I get the feeling that they are a back issue (for example -2 which should make -1)
When you want to insert a track like "next", is asiga before the track being played, so it will not play. (Itself as enteriormente said, according to the documentation, this is active at -2, but actually have to use -3 for this function, apartir -4 shows the error I said in the previous post)

Later I will comment better ADS error Scheduler

Search explorer crashed RB
Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]
Post by: pety on March 15, 2013, 11:45:40 PM
Search module in RB explorer is useless. It doesn't make search in folders. RB is not more simple, it becomes simplist (juvenil). I am very sad about the way in wich RB goes. Very very sad.

You destroyed TAG Editor, after so much improvements to it (there were our requests after our needs). Nobody in that world do that.

How can you destroy what you work to do? Look there: http://www.djsoft.net/smf/index.php/topic,2794.msg8122.html#msg8122 (http://www.djsoft.net/smf/index.php/topic,2794.msg8122.html#msg8122) (read all posts)

If nothing change we will stay with 4.8 for good. I will not recommend RB4.9 to our Radio Stations. If all our requests are destroyed in time our expectations will be zero. Everything became relative in RB. That's stupid. Who want a soft wich is transformed over night in something strange. No way.

Dmitry, please read that, re-read it and try to understand the real situation. If you have a nice car - BMW - and I transform it in an old Lada would you like it? Maybe yes, but I wouldnt.

Yes, I also remember I told you that it's not necessary :) Good thing is that normalization can be done automatically. You can just leave your PC for couple of days doing the job.

However, I have found one problem. Album artwork with a PNG origin is not being displayed
I don't think it's PNG issue because we tested it with all possible album art formats. Please send a track for which it can not read artwork to support@djsoft.net

Yes I know, but what I mean functional commands that bad.

Ah, OK. Sorry I missed that. This will be fixed in the next update.

As previously discussed I have a serious sight problem - I have been reading and writing braille for 40 years  ;)  When you say small red dot - I believe you  :D
Maybe select the "current" schedule with bold font. The same as currently playing track is marked in the Playlist.
Changing colors is not a good approach... People will start reporting "bugs" like "I selected Red background color and White font but when task started its color changed, please fix ASAP!" :)

Search explorer crashed RB
When this happens next time please click "Details" and then "Send bug report".

Search module in RB explorer is useless. It doesn't make search in folders.
Search in explorer searches only items which are open, it doesn't do full disk search. It will just help you to locate a file in the folder.

RB is not more simple, it becomes simplist (juvenil). I am very sad about the way in wich RB goes. Very very sad.
Nothing was removed (except for a small "filename" feature which will be brought back). Everything else either unchanged or improved. I don't understand all those complains.
UI should evolve. Now screens are bigger and there's no need to hide tag editor in the tabs, making users constantly switch between them.
Every UI change some people complain (at first)... If we've listened to them, the UI will stay as it was in the first version back in 2003 :) See attach.

You destroyed TAG Editor, after so much improvements to it (there were our requests after our needs).
Nobody in that world do that.
Is there anything else besides "Filename" field that was "destroyed"?

If you have a nice car - BMW - and I transform it in an old Lada would you like it? Maybe yes, but I wouldnt.
You can buy a new BMW and some features which were in your older BWM could be removed.

Hi!

Love the new encoder inputs, its great and works perfect :)

Is also a status indicator and a volume indicator provided on the main window???
Now you have a little bit control about external signals?

Will now test more :)
THANK YOU!

If you recall I stripped all tags except ID3V2.4 - looks like it stripped the replay gain in the process - Ok lets re "normalise" 40,000 tracks  :'(
Yes, I also remember I told you that it's not necessary :) Good thing is that normalization can be done automatically. You can just leave your PC for couple of days doing the job.

Think you told me AFTER I had  done it  :D As you say it is an automated proces so no problem  :)

However, I have found one problem. Album artwork with a PNG origin is not being displayed
I don't think it's PNG issue because we tested it with all possible album art formats. Please send a track for which it can not read artwork to support@djsoft.net

See attachment. In actual fact no artwork is being displayed - just a gray box ? On my Win 7 box (production) nothing happens if I click on the gray image. On my win 8 machine (playout) if I click on the box the artwork pops up - the wrong artwork as it happens !

Maybe select the "current" schedule with bold font. The same as currently playing track is marked in the Playlist.
Changing colors is not a good approach... People will start reporting "bugs" like "I selected Red background color and White font but when task started its color changed, please fix ASAP!" :)

Yep I understand the dilemma here. I have set background colors for certain schedules which I really like. I can see the highlighted color and it means something to me - just find int difficult to find the "current" playlist because the highlight simply is not visible - to me.

Having the "current" schedule as bold may be OK. don't worry about it too much - a couple of release ago it wasn;t there at all and I still like RB then  ;) ;)

The new crossfading seem to work really well  8) like it

Dave, I modified your post to fix QUOTE tags.

It displays Gray box when there's no artwork present in the tags (or it can not read it). If you have tracks with artwork embedded but RB doesn't read it, please send those tracks to support@djsoft.net

When artwork present you can click on a box to see it in a full size.

Having the "current" schedule as bold may be OK.
OK then :) One of the next updates will mark current event with bold.

The new crossfading seem to work really well   like it
Very good :) Do you use the default threshold value (-14dB) or changed it to something else?

Love the new encoder inputs, its great and works perfect :)
Great :) Let me know if you have any suggestions regarding this feature.

Is also a status indicator and a volume indicator provided on the main window???
Now you have a little bit control about external signals?
Volume control/indicator is located under the playlist. Or did you mean something else?
About external signal control, I'm afraid I didn't understand this part...

Currently, it is set to the defaults but it is likely to be changed - bit by bit - until I get it right. tracks that suddenly followed by tracks with no apparent intro can be tricky. I doubt that we will ever get a perfect setting but will keep tweaking.

currently listening to a load of 1950s "Rockin' Girls" which tend to have no fade or fade out and that is not working too well so I may drop the DB down to -18 to see if that improves things. if you are up and about tune in to hear it  ;)

Yes I know, but what I mean functional commands that bad.
I get the feeling that they are a back issue (for example -2 which should make -1)
Ah, OK. Sorry I missed that. This will be fixed in the next update.
This error also there are other things that do not work in the API.
No command works eg:
http://localhost:9000/?pass=1234&command=next (shows "nothing to do")

There is also a very important mistake when inserting a hint: when you want to insert after the current song, is inserted into the previous track (so the longer you reproduced).

Error ADS Scheduler:
Tildes are deleted: eg select another file and see that the tildes of the previous trade are lost.

Another thing about API: It would be nice in the XML besides the current song and the show also follows the previous song?

I like pety, also need the function to select and copy, but I'm very happy with the new Interfas of ID3 editor.
Only the panel where he looks very empty, will you add new things there?, If not, maybe would be good to incorporate a description text for each tab.

Another thing I would improve is the disposition of size in ID3 editor, when the screen is bigger but size should be available to show more characters in the editor (see screenshot)

I really liked the idea of having two inputs Line-in, but gives sensacnon the latter is limited to be an entry for the webcast.
Would be nice to selecting desired input which when inserted in the list and the scheduler

I would also like to see "Balance, Frequency, Rhythm, Tone and reverb effects" as a dsp, I think this program is to removed

From the microphone, is incorporated in RB 4.9 A unique panel dsp?, Besides this compressor was removed (I used it in the microphone and very useful), I would like to see both the microphone, to the main output.

I would also like to use makelibrary from api

despite these things that were removed from RB (I'd like to re-enter), I really like the new version, there are several very useful and practical things that have been implemented.
Thanks for your great work

Unchecking Mix point will disable mixing completely.
Turning "Trigger mix point" on and off controls if you want to mix based on time or on level.

http://localhost:9000/?pass=1234&command=next (shows "nothing to do")
There was an error in the examples, parameter actually called cmd, not command.
So it should be
http://localhost:9000/?pass=1234&cmd=next

Maybe this will be added too.

Yes, those are currently removed. Maybe will be returned, currently we'll collect feedback. Same for Compressor.

It is possible using the "cmd=" syntax.

Just loaded a playlist so that I can have a listen before it plays out later today.

I have noticed something strange. Crossfading seem not to work with long silence at the end of a track or suddenly just cutting

Looking at the tracks with Track tool I can see that all the tracks have the same start and end point although none are "set"

If I manually set them - everything is ok ??

Not seen this before ?

Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]

POSSIBLY connected with the above there IS an issue with the music library

Crossfading is currenly working fine on the playout machine but NOT on the production machine and I have been scratching my head for the last hour about this.

then it clicked

The music playing on the playout machine is from an existing un-modified database

The playlist I am playing on the "production" PC - the one with crossfading problems - is from a database created some weeks ago but had tracks added to it today.

I decided the delete the database and re-create it.

Following the initial scan I noticed that not all field were being populated properly - see first image - and a lot had no albums, year etc.

Hitting edit/update tags fixed this  ???  so the initial scan is NOT reading the tags correctly and requires a second scan to complete it properly - see second image

After creating a new playlist from the new database crossfading seems to work ALTHOUGH it is still failing to cope with extremly quiet intros and outros unless I manually mark these which is not practical

Hi Dmitry.

Thank you for all your work on this new version. There is much to test out and learn.

I seem to have a small issue with the font on the play out screen. I prefer to have a fairly large font size, but when I choose it, the playlist text becomes very 'congested.' In effect, I think it is trying to fit 18 font into a 12 font line.

Screen shot attached.

Is there a way I can adjust this, or is this a bug?

Thank you for your help.

Done some more testing and have found the following

It definitely takes 2 scans to read files data correctly

I have also noticed that even after 2 scans what is appearing in the Music Library Applications does not match what mp3tag V2.54 is seeing

See the 2 images A & B that show significant differences in the "comment" field - crucial for plalist generation.

When i tried to re-write the tags in Music Library it wouldn't and came up with an error - see image C

Hi,

I installed the 4.9 beta this morning.  I'm having some trouble getting RB to load up VST's.  I'm a recording/mix engineer by trade so I've got a large selection of plugins.  It throws up an error message when I try to load them.  I am using 32bit plugins.

It would be cool if we could run our presenters/mics into radioboss and use a vst compressor / eq chain on just the mics.  Then use vst mastering compression / limiting on the whole mix output?

It would be awesome if we could setup like:

Vocals in - Fabfilter Pro-Q (subtractive) - Sonalksis SV-315 compression - Waves VeQ (boosting) - Waves L1 levelling.

Music - Waves L2 Leveling

Vocal / Music sidechain ducking with FabFilter Pro-C

Whole Mix - Waves C6 - NI Passive EQ - Ozone 5 Limiter

Would it be possible to impliment VST's for all these tasks or is it un-realistic?

B

Hi Dmitry
Like Dave-T I am finding the Trigger mix at using db level not working either. The song is playing right out to the finish (unless there is another outro setting affecting it such as you see in Tracktool).

I have taken every other setting off, including Remove gap between tracks. So in effect the ONLY setting turned on is Trigger Mix. And its not working. Both boxes ticked (for Trigger Mix).

As a separate issue I want to raise with you the need to have mixes for Inward Streaming (loading as an Event with Immediate Start or for Waiting For Current Track to Finish).
Fade In and Fade Out  needs to have three separate applications
(1) For tracks ONLY
(2) For inward streaming and tracks ONLY
(3) For inward streaming ONLY
So you can have FI and FO turned OFF for tracks ONLY but turned ON for streaming and tracks ONLY or turned ON for streaming ONLY
Or have ALL turned ON or ALL turned OFF

Current Position :
(1) If you have FI/FO turned off,  the sound lurches violently from stopped song to started streaming, and vice versa at the finish. This is NOT the desirable effect.
(2)  If you have FI/FO turned on,  the sound fades out on stopped song to fade in on started streaming, and vice versa at the finish. This is the desirable effect.

There is a problem with the interface as it doesn't automatically compensate for larger font sizes.  I like to use an 18 point font and now the song names in the playlist overlap.  Is there a way to change the column height manually? :(

Yes, there's a bug with silence detector and Mix point, this will be fixed in the next update.
Regarding Track Tool Start/End markers display, it looks like a bug too.

Please send one of the tracks for which it doesn't read tag correctly.

I have also noticed that even after 2 scans what is appearing in the Music Library Applications does not match what mp3tag V2.54 is seeing
I think this happened when you changed ID3 tag version. It produced duplicated tag frames and, probably, RB reads first one while mp3tag reads last one (for example). This can also be a cause why RB refuses to edit such a tag. Please send 1-2 of tracks which require "double-read" to support@djsoft.net

It doesn't read Cover Art for FLAC files yet. Only MP3, OGG, AAC and M4A.

Ok, it is possible to use shell2vst to extract the dll's from waveshell if folk want to use waves plugins so that must be what's up there.  I'll give it a go tonight.

Will it also be possible to process the music & master output separately, I.e one plugin chain for the mics, one plugin chain for the music and one plugin chain for the master output (everything)?

I don't think particular set of files is due to an RB issue. All files are from a particular artist/album given to me by someone else. I have been unable to re-create the issues so happy to concede that the files are probably corrupt. I may need to correct this statement

Quote
Following the initial scan I noticed that not all field were being populated properly - see first image - and a lot had no albums, year etc.

This is NOT a file issue but a generic one. I have just scanned 853 newly processed files and RB did not read any of them correctly. the album, album artist, year and comment were not populated in the newly created database. An "update info from Tags" did however correct the missing ino.

Obsedrvations

on the initial scan files whose filename were artist - title populated the associated fields correctly

files whose filename was track artist - title placed the track No in the artist field and the artist & title in the "title" field

PROCESS - Having placed all files in a directory/sub directory I load them into MP3Tag V2.54
Selecting all files I remove all tags except ID3V2
I then edit any of the fields that need editing
Selecting ALL files again I add keywords to the "comment Field" and save the files
I only write ID3V2.4 and APE V2 tags (MP3 gain seems to add APE tags) ?

I then process all the files through MP3Gain to normalise them them to 92db

Files are then added to a new database using the Music Library

IMPORTANT NOTE - for completeness

I have just scanned the same directory using RB V 4.8.3

A single scan populated the database correctly without the need to "update files from tags" including the particular album which I thought was corrupt

AND looking at the files with the Track Tool, start and end markers are set correctly  :)

I am as confident as I can be that these issues are not file related but RB 4.9.0 related.

Hope this helps

Tried the BETA on my old system with ASIO4ALL and on-board MB sound.  Everytime I activate and de-activate the mic button there is about 1 seconds cut out of the music and no fade?  Changing the buffer setting in asio4all did nothing to help this?

Is this what you would expect when not using a dedicated PCI soundcard?

What buffer size you're referring to (playback or network buffer)? Same for metadata, it doesn't read metadata when you playing network stream or it doesn't send metadata when broadcasting?

Hiya,

Shell2vst worked in that it extracted all the waves plugins from the waveshell, but they all seem to be 5kb in size which is odd.  They are in my RB plugin directory as is the waveshell and RB is not recognizing them.

Other than a couple of eq's, C1, L1 and PIE I can't think of much in the waves bundle that would be very good for broadcast and they are all replaceable.  I'll be using Sonalksis SV-314mk2 comp for all vocal duties, it's just a super smooth transparent plugin,  IK LA2A, Fabfilter Pro-Q and Ozone can make up for the rest.

Regarding the mic toggle, I have the playback and mic configured to asio4all.  When i toggle the mic on or off it momentarily cuts out the music.  instead of fading it down, it cuts it out for a second then the volume is lower.  It's like latency or as if it's struggling to do the fade so it just cuts it out momentarily.  This happens both when I toggle it on, and off.

dont twist my words , my disappointment comes from you saying to me " it will be fixed in the next update " , then i keep waiting on fire for that , then congratulations, the next update comes with no fixing ..

" Your request is in the queue " , oh there's still a chance then , but when ??

Hello, here I comment errors I found:

* Please check the following API command:
localhost:9000/?pass=1234&action=inserttrack&filename=C:\song.mp3&pos=-3
-3 command (which functions as a bug -2), you should insert the song after the current song, but inserted before being played, you will notice when you try this command.

* With respect to buffer the problem is only in the metadata, the audio works fine.
This occurs in a streaming playback, I'm using a buffer of 50 seconds to start playback displays the name of the current song, but then not updated in any reproduction.

* Interface error: I have a default size for the registration panel, but by maximizing (resize) the program, the panel returns its original position. this error was introduced more than a year and a half and report, still has no solution, it is very annoying to be setting this up every time the program is maximized.

All right. I just don't get why you got disappointed so fast... only 4 days passed since you asked for a feature.
The update is not released yet - it's a beta version under development. Start time calculation improvements are planned for the nearest future.

Thank you for reports - this will be fixed soon, including the old UI bug you've mentioned.

Thanks for update regarding Shell2Vst... Looks like Waves is protected against this.
We'll check on the MIC fading issue. You should also try chainging the Fadein/out setting for Microphone (Settings->Microphpne/Line.In).

Hello !

I have suggestion for extend makelibrary function. For example:

makelibrary C:\path to save\my.xml|C:\Music|D:\MoreMusic|Genre=Pop

- Add track from c:\music and d:\MoreMusic into my.xml filtered by Genre Pop

Genre filtering will take some time especially if folder has many files.
Where do you plan to use the created music library file - in Playlist Generator Pro?

Yes in Playlist Generator Pro and in main screen -> search tab. It's easy search inside Genre selecting active library :)

Hiya,

Yes, I have experimented with the fading options and still it skips when the mic button is toggled on/off.
I have also installed an ASUS Xonar DS 7.1 card with ASIO 2 driver support.  All is working fine in terms of latency but the mic button mystery persists?

For now I leave the mic button on permanently and just fade my vocals up with the desk.  It is a shame there is no ducking but once the sidechain compression is implemented the mic button toggle problem will be irrelevant as it can stay on all the time allowing the compression to deal with the ducking.

" The update is not released yet - it's a beta version under development "

then its not the next version you meant ? does that mean there is an official version coming this week or the next one ?

anyways, i apologize if i said something/behaved bad/badly in the previous comment, i just was a bit nervous ..

i used the beta , and i liked the new things you've added .. great work people , keep it up .. :)

Great stuff!

What did you think to the suggestion of separate VST processing for vocals, music and master output?  Possibly on a small soft mixer or something?

"edit"
With this amount of processing delay compensation would probably be necessary though careful selection of plugins would work.

It is the "next version" I was referring to, but currently it's under development. Not everything which was planned/promised is added yet.

burglar
I'm not sure what plugin will suit your needs... It depends on many factors. Probably you should try StereoTool.

DJSTU
Yes, it looks like so. Sorry.
Regarding Mix point - the next version will have most of the issues regarding Mix Trigger sorted out.
About the crossfade question, you can control crossfades for Network Streams on the crossfade window (select "Network Stream" file type).

Hi all

I'm new here and just installed the program yesterday. It has been running for over 24 hours now and I am very happy with it . The best I have tried so far, easy to setup for a quick start.

I will point out I have not been able to check out all things yet.

I did notice a time announcement   setup on the toolbar , but NO information in the Help pages . Could someone assist.  :P

I'm not sure you understood my post?  I was asking what you thought about implementing separate VST plugin chains.  1 plugin chain for vocals, 1 plugin chain for the music and 1 plugin chain for the stereo output?

A separate DSP chain will be added for Mic, this should happen pretty soon.

sscargo
Sorry, help file is not updated yet.
Here's the instruction:

To add time announcement click Playlist->Add time announcement

In this window you need to select a folder with voice files. The folder need to have 24 sound files for hours and 60 files for minutes.

File naming convention:
Hour files. Hour files must have "h" in file name and a number (2 digits). For example hr_05.mp3 should say "it''s 5" - then it will be followed by a minute file. Hour files with "o" in name are used for exact hour: hr_05o.mp3 should say "it''s 5 o''clock", minutes are not said in this case.
Minute files. Minute files must have "m" in file name and a number (2 digits). For example, m_56.mp3 should say "fifty-six".

Sample voice files can be downloaded from our web site: http://www.djsoft.net/enu/download.htm

Announcements can be started from Scheduler: click Wizard button, select Automatic announcement and follow the instructions.

RadioBOSS 4.9.0.1
- Fixed artwork reading for some mp3 files
- Fixed a bug when saving a tag for some mp3 files
- Fixed Music Library incorrect tag reading
- Fixed a bug with large font sizes in playlist, scheduler and file explorer windows
- Fixed Microphone bug when using the same ASIO device for input and output
- Fixed "inserttrack" API bug
- Fixed: removing a DSP didn't stop it
- Added a button to generate password for Remote Control feature
- Added a button to show/hide track information
- Fixed incorrect MIX point detection (for tracks with End mark and some other tracks)
- Mix Point now controls the minimum MIX time for "Trigger Mix at" feature. Ex.: if Mix Point is set to 2.5 sec and detected Mix position is at 0.8 sec, the Mix will occur at 2.5 sec
- changed settings storage format to use XML. Most of the program settings will be reset. Scheduler events, playlists, Playlist Generator [Pro] presets, Adverticement Scheduler settings will be kept.
- Fixed several minor bugs

Yes, it was mentioned in the changes list. I marked it in red to make it more visible.

Probably you've use a different .sdl file and its name, stored in profile, was lost along with the other settings. You can try clicking List->Load and load an appropriate .sdl file.

Do you mean the "Created:" attribute of the .m3u8 file is 16 minutes later? If so, that's really odd as RB doesn't do anything with file attributes...

I was using the default SDL file. It has not caused me any problem as I was going to completely rebuild the schedules anyway - just thought I would raise it with you.

The time stamp on the m3u8 file is again not an issue but really bizarre. I have checked system clocks etc and everything is correct!

so far things looking good with 4.9.1a

Dave,

The SDL file format wasn't changed and events should be loaded fine... it's weird that your events were lost. Well, that's one more reason to add settings backup/restore feature to RB for cases like this.
Try clicking List->Open and select the Default.sdl file, maybe events will be back.

Regarding the playlist creation time. I just tried Generate and then Save Playlist in the PLGenPro, and file timestamps are correct. Maybe those issues (losing events and wrong file timestamps) are related somehow. Like some application (a virus?) intercepts disk operations and does something.

For the URL playback in the AUX player, it's not implemented yet. Will be in 4.9.0.2, planned for tomorrow.

Nope it is not there! - probably "user error" - wouldn't be the first time  ;)

Command line playlist generation was by far the most useful addition to 4.8  :) I love it and it allow me to run a "production" and "playout" setup. As you can see I run different schedules everyday but they are saved as the same name. that way it simplifies the scheduling on the playout machine.

I would really like to have the playout PC a very low power (cheap) system such as an Intel Atom. Because it is not generating playlists the demand on resources is minimal. Not sure what is happening with the Intel Atom processor as I see that Intel have introduced the NUC which is tiny but currently
quite expensive.

It's not necessary to use Atom for this. I know compact low-power systems built on regular CPU's sold for about $300 (whole system).

One of the options is to "Use Date" and set the date far away in the future or in the past. Event will never run. Or just uncheck the "Enabled event", but the event will be grayed out.

Then set Filename and Event Name to "--------" or "********" or anything like this.

There are couple of other additions planned for the scheduler list: prevent sorting on column click and add a special separator item (the latter probably goes to 4.9.1).

Wrong translation...  :)
I don't know a word in Romanian so I just trusted the guy who made the translation :) If you wish, you can correct this: translations are stored under RadioBOSS\Lang\Ro, the texts for RadioBOSS Played window are in lang.ini file.

OK, Romanian localization has its problems. At least it's outdated: lots of stuff is not translated.
If you can help with this or know someone who could, please let me know (I think we should discuss this via e-mail).

How are made all this commands?
It is interesting...
There's run scheduler command which allows to launch any program.
It used to start Playlist Generator Pro to generate a playlist and save it to a file.
Playlist Generator Pro command line parameters are explained here: http://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/using_playlist_generator_pro.htm (scroll to the bottom).

A netbook or laptop will be OK - RadioBOSS doesn't need much system resources to operate.

Hello Dmitry
RadioBoss Ver 4-9-0-1 on Win7

There is a bug with this new version.
I am having trouble pinpointing it exactly.

This is the order of things:
Track Plays (Track 1)
Track is interrupted by a connection to a stream (immediate connection) In test this is 2 mins.
Stream Ends
New Track Plays (Track 2)

This is what appears to be happening:
New Track 2 plays, and underneath Track 1 resumes from where it left off when the stream started (I think).
Now I cannot be sure whether the whole of Track 1 is playing again or just a partial part of the track.
For some reason Track 1 is very very low level compared to Track 2. Sounds like it is in the background. It would take the right choice of tracks to pinpoint just what is going on.
There is nothing visual to say what is going on.

Another anomaly is that this does NOT seem to happen on every occasion. But is regular.

2 - In the work area two there is a text that shows translation ('s nonsense of course, see red box).
3 - This is perhaps more complicated error:
The program was maximized several days without anyone even move the mouse, the window was active scheduler:
This happens when the program is maximized long, with active scheduler window (I happened several times, I was not on the radio, no one used the pc. Remote access to every 2/3 days):
The problem was the following, appeared in front of: Name, Run In, Time. strange names, with empty fields.
When I load the profile again and everything returns to normal.

Although the tag reading of files into the database is much better some files are still not being read properly
a couple are on the way via e-mail
Thanks for those files. The issue has been fixed.

Is it possible to send me an evaluating key?
Yes, please send a request to sales@djsoft.net as stated in the first post. If you've already sent a request, please wait for key to arrive.

There is a bug with this new version.
I am having trouble pinpointing it exactly.
That's something new. I don't know how it's technically possible for Track1 to start playing again...
You say Track1 is interrupted by a stream - do you mean a http:// stream is started? Is it started by scheduler?

The problem was the following, appeared in front of: Name, Run In, Time. strange names, with empty fields.
When I load the profile again and everything returns to normal.
A day of strange bugs :)
I just checked two of the testing instances, one running for 29 days and another for 55 days. The Clear button in Zone2 is where it should be and scheduler list is fine... We test program only in English language. Can you try switching UI language to English to see if it's something related to the translation?

DJSTU Answer
Yes to both questions.
The level of Track 1 is extremely low in comparison to Track 2. You have to listen very carefully to pick it up. Almost impossible if Track 2 is loud.
At the moment I am in test mode.
Tracks playing followed by streams being started every 5 mins..and this is two totally separate sourced streams, not just the one. One LAN and one WAN.
So we have 3 mins of tracks, followed by 2 mins of streaming...that pattern makes up every 5 mins, and cycles continuously like that.

Note: You may have to have RB playing for some time before it starts doing this. I have just started it off this morning and not detecting anything at all. But its only been going for one hour.

PS.
Network stream. Mix Point set at 2 secs. Fade Out set at 2 secs.
I am beginning to suspect the stream mix time which I have set at 2 secs. When the stream started it went way beyond 2 secs in the crossover. JUST maybe this same thing is happening on the way out too which is also set at 2 secs.
This was after about 6 hours of operation.

I suppose you're using v4.9.0.1 - it has several problems which could lead to an unexpected behavior.
I'll setup a testing instance to imitate your setup with streams and tracks to test it.

A new version is released (details in the next post), please download an update and try how it works.

RadioBOSS 4.9.0.2
- Trial period extended to 100 uses
- Fixed several UI bugs
- Fixed possible bug when using ASIO input in Mono
- Fixed a bug with "Output only to encoders" microphone option
- Fixed "Comment" tag reading problems for some files
- Fixed several issues in TrackTool
- Due to many reported problems, settings format changed back to what it used to be. If you're upgrading from 4.9.0.1, settings will be reset.

PS
Chris Diack says a similar problem happened with SqrSoft. Whereby relics of the old track remained in cache and was not cleared before the new track started. This info may be of use in somewhere to look.

Chris Diack is having a problem on Win XP.  Ver 4.9.0.1
In the Playlist when you click on a Track it doesn't highlight.
You cannot identify the track you have clicked on by just looking at it.

I am not having this problem in Win 7. It is highlighting in a shade of color which makes it easy to see.

ANY suggestions on what the problem might be ?
We have checked the settings and cannot see anything obvious.

RB makes sure nothing like this ever happens. There was an error in RB 4.9.0.1 which can be a cause of some strange behavior. I've checked out RB 4902 testing instance which plays tracks together with scheduled stream (as in your setup), and it's fine - been running for 4 hours already.

If you still hear parts of first track in the newer version, please click Ctrl+D to show the Debug window and PrintScreen it.

Yeah, XP doesn't support semi-transparent selection as Vista and newer systems do.

Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]
Post by: DJSTU on March 28, 2013, 06:33:59 PM
This is what is causing the problem.
See the attached photo.
For some reason some songs have suddenly acquired a front loading mix (For unknown reasons. I did open and look at some tracks in TrackTool without altering and just closed them again, but cannot remember what these songs were).
It is caused by the mix being longer than the actual track length.

If say Track 1 has that front mix in it
it starts Playing Track 2 at the MIX P0INT
What happens is that Track 2 and Track 1 continue to play together, that is both playing at the same time.
In fact it gets worse. If Track 2 is shorter than Track 1 then Track 1 continues on and starts playing together with Track 3.

Now in the Streaming situation
If this happens when the scheduled streams starts, the twin songs playing stop and the stream takes over.
When the stream finishes, the NEXT track (Track 3) starts playing together with Track 1. The twin track situations continues also with the possibility it will ALSO cross into a 4th Track.

A little warning - it doesn't ask when you press "Delete" key on the keyboard, it will be fixed in the next update.

It is caused by the mix being longer than the actual track length.
That could be the reason.
TrackTool in RB 4.9.0.2 has a fix for it - it doesn't allow setting any of the markers beyond end of file.

If Track 1 is long and it has MIX at its beginning, it could possibly play until its end together with the other tracks... I'm not sure if it's RB bug or not.

Hi Again,

Not sure if this is possible but what do you think about being able to trigger jingles using function keys.  i.e
F1- house jingle , F2- classical jingle, F3 country jingle etc?  If they were set to bpm they could be sync'ed appropriately?  This would require some presenting skill and awareness of source material / samples but could bee cool.

Yes, 4.9 probably is the most massive update ever made.
Now settings for inputs and outputs are in the same style, and I think it's better and more obvious. It allows to turn off inputs (it wasn't easily possible in the previous versions) and adds a second line input.

Yes, Microphone/Line.IN has been renamed to "Inputs" and redesigned.
Things got to change. Old UI was not so good, it looked too complex and overcrowded, causing a lot of questions from users. And there was no screen space to add second Line Input.
I don't think this UI will change in the next 5 (and likely more) years - it's safe to train co-workes with this one.

RadioBOSS only reads artwork and there are no plans to include edit features for it... Probably in the future versions.

Generating an artwork file is possible, the next update most likely will have this feature.

With respect to the separate DSP for vocals, music and the master.  Would it be feasible to integrate a software mixer similar to what you may find in an audio workstation like cubase or protools so you could have all you levels on one mixer possibly on a second screen.  that way you could have control of your:

- mic
- music
- jingles
- Master stream output

The sidechain / ducking compression could be set from the mixer via a send.  Also, you could have effect insert slots per channel so you can setup all of your processing / gain staging in one place.  You could even have fx like reverb & delay on fx send channels that you could trigger on/off with function keys?

Midi controllers could be used in the future to control the mixer levels and a whole internal, customizable virtual outboard station could be designed in the box using vst's.

Post by: djsoft on April 03, 2013, 11:34:14 AM
RadioBOSS can output music, carts and jingles to a separate sound card - the final mix can be controlled by a hardware mixer, which is a preferred way.

Currently there are no plans to create a virtual mixer board, maybe in the future...

Hello, interface problems still present over established English language (see Figure 1)

I've noticed that has widened the gap between the name of the songs in the playlist, I wish this is customizable:
On one hand I like the new size, everything looks clearer in our main pc, the problem is when we use the program on a netbook whose resolution is very small, and added to the tag editor, there is very little space. (Fig. 2 and 4)

I have a suggestion regarding the file name in the Tag Editor:
When the window size is not enough to display the full path, it would be nice to only display the file name (see Figure 3)

I think something is wrong with "trigger mix at":
Probe multivalued and not notice any difference, also I notice that is performed on the track fade out ending soon begins another without repetar preset values

another thing: There are plans to establish websites to default web browser tabs?, so to have a flap that automatically carge for facebook, one for sms, etc

There is a bug in the new editor of tags:
When you edit a file that is not assigned to anything in the field year, the program stores "0"

I think something is wrong with "trigger mix at":

It depends on what music you have. If track level is high till the end, then it will be mixed using the time value in seconds. For tracks with long fade-out in the end, tracks will be mixed earlier.

another thing: There are plans to establish websites to default web browser tabs?, so to have a flap that automatically carge for facebook, one for sms, etc
The next version will remember the last web site for each tab.

When you edit a file that is not assigned to anything in the field year, the program stores "0"

That's really strange. What other software do you have installed on the PC?
It looks like some 3rd party software can mess with the system... incorrect scheduler list, disappearing "Clear" button. All those issues may have one cause. No other users reported anything like this and nothing like this happens on testing instances here... I think that could be something wrong with your PC.

I have just had a schedule run twice then a schedule ran that should not have run  ??? ???

Post by: dave-t on April 04, 2013, 03:57:20 PM
Hi Dmitry

I have been looking at this "problem" for quite some time and think I can explain both situations.

1. My news bulletin ran twice straight after each other.

quite simply the way I had set the schedule up allowed this to happen. when I first configured the event I had it starting at 09:00 with 4 repeats set for 180 Minutes so that is would also run at 12:00, 15:00 and 18:00.

I then re-configured the event to run at specific times: 09:00, 10:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 & 22:00

However the repeat schedule every 180 remained ticked so it quite simply ran it twice ! - see attached.

Clearly this was a user error although it was quite easy to make the mistake.

2. Schedule running when it was not supposed to.

I have checked a tripled check the event and it should NOT have run at just after 18:00 tonight - however I believe I can explain why it did.

the schedule [1970s] is set to run at 03:00 with 2 repeats at of 540 minutes, so it should have run at 03:00 & 12:00. It did run properly at 03:00

for a reason I cannot explain, I could not hear the stream on my monitoring system at 09:00 this morning. I was distracted by a phone called and re-loaded RB and forced the wrong schedule [1970] to start at 09:05.

the schedule ran correctly at 12:00 but then ran again at 18:05 - 9 hours AFTER I incorrectly forced it to run.

As the schedule was effectively reloaded (when I started RB) and after forcing it to run at 09:05 it caused it to run again according to the repeat that had been set

Hope that makes sense !

we have exchanged emails re the "load" command and suspect that this is the same issue ?

No, perhaps the antivirus, I have avast free, the PC is installed: winamp, u-torrent, delphi, flash cs6, adobe audition, vmware, mp3tag, i-tunes, crhome, notepad + +, virtual dj, Songr. but I think these programs have nothing to do with the operation of the system.

Dave,

1. When you have "Hours" checked, the Repeat feature is grayed out and it's not working (even if you have checkbox there). I'll add this to the list, probably there's a bug. Please post part of reports when event was started twice.

2. The load command is a separate issue and it only occurs when you're using load command. Repeat is not tied to the time when you manually launched, it's counted from the set time, no matter if and when Run Now command was used. I also added it to the list to be checked.

Yes, I think you should try removing Avast. Although I'm not sure it's the cause... Probably a full system reinstall is a good idea... As we can't reproduce several bugs you reported (incorrect scheduler list, disappearing Clear button and cart wall cuts tracks) - I consider this is something to do with your PC.

Dave, OK, thanks for details. For repeats, although values are stored in the event properties, it's not used in operation. And the repeat feature is grayed out in the scheduler window when Hours option is selected

By the way, did it happen again? Or this happened only once?

Regarding double start: are you sure there's no other event which can launch at 18.00.00 to start http://www.fsnradionews.com/FSNNews/FSNBulletin.mp3? Report doesn't say if it's the same event or not. Technically it's impossible for event to be started twice - that's why I'm asking so many questions...

It has only happened once and I have waited the full 24 hours before replying to ensure that it did not happen at 18:00 UK time

I have checked and doubled checked the pre-sets and I cannot find anything to indicate that it was scheduled to run twice.

The ONLY difference yesterday was that I reloaded RB and that is where my suspicions lie.

as I am running different schedules at the weekend I cannot properly test this until Monday but would be happy to run the same schedules on another machine and reload RB to see if I can replicate the "issue" ?

Make sure you're using the latest RB 4.9.0.2, previous versions had a bug which could lead to an unexpected behavior.

If you're already using the latest version, please clarify if you're talking about Broadcasting feature or it's network stream playback?

Hello, recently I found two errors:
1- A file that has the following path, to save the list .M3u will not play:

D:\Mis Documentos\Mis documentos Nelson\Mi musica\Archivos Radio\Discografias\Nelly Furtado (09-05-2011)\01. Album - Альбомы\08. 2009 - Mi Plan\05. Bajo Otra Luz.mp3
the saved route is:
D:\Mis Documentos\Mis documentos Nelson\Mi musica\Archivos Radio\Discografias\Nelly Furtado (09-05-2011)\01. Album - ???????\08. 2009 - Mi Plan\05. Bajo Otra Luz.mp3(sorry they are emoticons)

2- I was moving a file in the list, then cut and attached the error occurred and restart the program:

Nelson,

1. Yes, m3u stores texts in ANSI encoding which doesn't support international characters. To get rid of this problem use .m3u8 playlists.

2. Thank you for reporting this bug.

The solution was to copy all tracks to a new tab and now I keep on. m3u8 :)

It offers you to save the playlist in the same format as it was.

There's much easier way to do it - change the file type using combo box in the Save window :)

Regarding the start time calculation that discussed before:
Internet browsing today I saw a program announcing perfect accuracy on the calculation of the songs start, so I did a search:
Apparently this is achieved by storing in a database should cut points where the silences, for each track.
So the process is performed only when importing tracks.

Maybe it's a good idea to implement this in radioboss, the only problem with this would be when introducing songs that are not in the database.
Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]
Post by: djsoft on April 08, 2013, 02:07:05 AM
Nelson,
In RadioBOSS you don't do track import as such - a track can be dragged from any folder to the playlist and played right away :) And that has both good and bad sides...

Even if song is in the database, it should be re-scanned in case you adjust Threshold for Gap Killer or changed "Trigger Mix at" setting. It's becoming even more complicated if you use voice tracks, then the playlist duration will depend on intro/outro settings for tracks. Any scheduler event inserted in the playlist (or an overlay event started with "Pause playlist playback" option) will make all calculations useless... this list is endless :)

The question is if we need 100% accurate start time calculation at all?
If something needs to be started at the exact time - it's way easier to use scheduler for this.

If we do not need 100% accuracy :), plus I'm realizing that it is much more complex than it seems. :(

The usefulness of this after all, the announcer may have a better organization, and currently works pretty well :), so in my case is not a priority.

Hello Dmitry:
I'm putting together a small program that inserts shoutcast addresses to the list, according to the bandwidth of the Internet connection to use this API RB 4.9.
I have a drawback RadioBOSS side as solving not:

When the Internet connection is down, you should add a folder with music.
Then there using the command "ClearList" empty the list and insert "getrandomplaylist D: \ **. Command".
the problem is when I do clearlist: After finishing the current track stops reproduction in radioboss.

Any idea? thanks

A comment on this: In the previous post you said that this is activated by the command "setnexttrack 1".
But for it to work I had to use only "setnexttrack"
In my case I use the same, but maybe another user to cause confusion.

Another error in list in simultaneous playback pause: after ending the player side execution is paused.

I would also like to remind some old requests:
-To use the macros-day?? month? year?? in playlist generator pro.
-possible edit-mix points of the song being played by Sigue Editor.

The feature was asked in those topics:
http://www.djsoft.net/smf/index.php/topic,3025.0.html
http://www.djsoft.net/smf/index.php/topic,3247.0.html

In short, when track selection for category is "In order" (instead of Random), it takes tracks from beginning of the source (1st track, 2nd track and so on). Each time playlist is generated, it started from the first track in the source. Now it can "remember" the position in the track source and start taking tracks from that position... I'm not sure if this explanation is any good, but it's better than nothing I guess :)

A comment on this: In the previous post you said that this is activated by the command "setnexttrack 1".
But for it to work I had to use only "setnexttrack"
This command is described in the first post... Discard anything I said before about this command :)

Another error in list in simultaneous playback pause: after ending the player side execution is paused.
Can you please give more details on this?

I would also like to remind some old requests:
-To use the macros-day?? month? year?? in playlist generator pro.
-possible edit-mix points of the song being played by Sigue Editor.
Those are still in the queue... but I don't know ETA for those features.

A bit better! - I suppose this depends on how the data is stored in the music library? I think it saves it in the order that it is currently displayed on the screen ?

URL playback is now possible when using Overlay Playback in scheduler

this is not working properly. If a track is currently playing the volume is not reduced. when the next track starts it is played at a reduced level. It also exist this process very abruptly. when the overlay track finishes the playlist track suddenly goes to full volume - a fade up would be much nicer  ;)

to explain a little further. The main playlist will have a news intro then a "bed" the new feed will be played as the overlay. as the "bed" starts a few second before the news feed, it needs to fade to the pre-set level (gracefully) then when the news feed finishes the last few second of the bed needs to (gracefully) fade up to full volume before the news outro kicks in as the next track.

Sorry, I forgot to thank you for implementing this in this release  ;)

Overlays only fade in/out the playlist volume, one overlay playback won't fade another overlay...

I remember this feature was asked to make news playback with bed... There's easier solution, especially that news file is a fixed duration (3 minutes IIRC):
- create a bed file, 3 minutes in duration (maybe a bit more to account for buffering)
- edit it with Track Tool and set MIX to the very beginning and FADE OUT to the very end
In the playlist place news file (URL) right after bed file. This way bed and news will play together.

Also there's a feature planned for RB 5.0: assign beds for File Types.

Hi Dmitry,

Just installed RB 4.9.0.4b and I notice that I cannot change the soundcard. I am running Virtual Audio Cable to be able to runmultiple instances of RB in different Windows sessions. Each RB instance should be able to use a different virtual cable.
RB uses virtual cable 1 by default, the other instances of virtual cables are listed in the dropdown list but cannot be selected.
This was working file in RB 4.8
I need this to manage Advertissement.

RadioBOSS only reads artwork and there are no plans to include edit features for it... Probably in the future versions.

Generating an artwork file is possible, the next update most likely will have this feature.

I have utility that adds artwork to MP3s I record.  I can see those files added in explorer, but will they be sent to the host (Live365) and used during play there?  Thanks.

RadioBOSS can upload artwork file to FTP server - you can send URL of this picture to Live365 (coverURL).
See this topic http://www.djsoft.net/smf/index.php/topic,1034.0.html - it has a file attached "Using add_song.cgi API.txt" this should be enough to send artwork to Live365.

What about Effects... in FX ?
Microphone will have own DSP manager, eg. you can add equalizer or compressor to mic. Please wait for RB 4.9.0.5.

Another error in list in simultaneous playback pause: after ending the player side execution is paused.
Can you please give more details on this?
The problem is as follows:
From the planner, using "simultaneous player" along with "Pause Playback", the event is played correctly, but at the end of it, the main player is stopped.

There are plans to add jingles automatically at points "Intro" of each topic.
For example Jazler contine this function (demo: http://www.jazler.com/downloads/JazlerRS2Demo.exe)

Other Thing: setting-> Fadin-> Voice Tracking, for that is?

Good that DSP for the microphone is implemented so soon :)

Do you mean the playlist doesn't get unpaused after Overlay event finished? How many overlay events are runnign at the same time - more than one?

You can use Playlist Generator Pro to add intros/outros to playlists.

This is to control how voice tracks are played. You can record and insert voicetracks using Voice Track utility (located under Playlist menu).

yeah right, simultaneously reproduce a single song and then the player is paused

I think you did not understand the request:
I mean jingles (in Jazler called sweepers) are played automatically before autro points (as with the voice tracks).
Here is a tutorial which shows the operation of this in Jazler.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2mOdOkXcZk (Minute 4:20)
The idea is to also have several sweepers in a folder and selects RB played one and end just before the point intro.

The bug with scheduler unpause will be fixed in the next update. It seems that bug was introduced in 4.9...

For the feature request, something like this will be added in the future versions. Like - select a voice track for specific artist ("Hi I'm ... and you're listening to my song") or just select a random VT from a specific folder. This is planned for RB 5.0.

it depends it's actually both. one was a playlist with commericals in it another time is whenever a stream is dropped and the silent detection kicks in. it does drop the feed and move to the next item on the playlist to continue playing music.

A quick test revealed no error - it plays all items and closes. Are you using the latest beta (.4)? How often does it happen? Also please post a screenshot of event settings.

Just remembered something

Can I request a little modification to the "do Not repeat" section of PLG Pro

In the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s many artist recorded the same "song" and I had an incident this morning of the "same song" being played twice - by different artists - one after the other.

PLG Pro has

Do Not repeat Artsits for xx
do Not repeat Track for xx
do Not repeat Album for xx

but does not have

Do Not repeat "title" for xx

I would be grateful if this could be considered for inclusion in a future release  ;)

Need a little help....I just installed the beta 4.9.0.5 and I get an external exception error C06D007F from the file explorer.  I have no information at all in file explorer tab, just a blank screen.  I have been using 4.8.3 and have had no problems, just thought I would try the new beta.   Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Thanks

Yes, this makes sense. Even if songs are different, same title for two songs in a row still sounds odd. Same song performed by different artists is even worse.

The no-repeat for title will be added in the next update.

The cause is the optimizations which were made recently. Their purpose were to make file explorer tree building faster and aviod UI lockups if a broken shell extension installed on the system.

Can you please give more information:
* what operating system are you using? (other users reported it on XP and it seems doesn't happen on later systems)
* does error message appear immediately after program startup or you did something, like selected a folder, dragged a file?

Good :) VST plugins for MIC are possible, but it can lead to problems if the same plugin is used for Music and Mic. So they're disabled for now.

I'm not sure if VT recorder should apply DSP's to recordings - but in case many users ask for it, it will be added.

David, thanks! The bug will be fixed in the next update. It turned out that RB used some features which are not available on Windows XP or earlier versions of Windows...

In one year I have the same "song" performed by 6 different artists so really need a way to avoid them playing one after the other  :)
PLGenPro will be able to avoid it, but titles have to be exact match - for example, "Don't Stop" and "Don't Stop 2013" will be considered as different tracks.

Perhaps the solution is to display a warning when an event is active on one side and the other.
Anyway, I think anyone will be using a plugin twice, in our case will Izotope nectar (DSP microphone), and Stereo Tool for the main output.
The addition of voice processing for tracker is quite important for us, I hope that others adhere ..

OK - VST's will be allowed for MIC, but in the later updates (4.9.1 maybe). Same for DSPs while recording voice tracks.

I still have the issue I reported when using virtual sound cards, only the first one can be selected.
This will be fixed in 4.9.0.6 as well as EExternalException error.

select a voice track for specific artist ("Hi I'm ... and you're listening to my song") or just select a random VT from a specific folder. This is planned for RB 5.0.
It makes me very happy!, A suggestion would not only be good to establish VST by artist if not also for the genre of the song.

Yes, you can use tag editor for Line.IN to set broadcasting title. A "stream name" for line.in will be added to make things more convenient (in the next update).

Let me know your experience with this feature. I've tested, on 24hr playlist those fractions of seconds add up to couple of minutes.

It works fine to me too. My mistake.
What it was? Maybe RB can be improved to avoid this in the future?

Did you make a test?
A little explanation on this: when you start RB it calculates playlist duration in seconds (those values are stored in the playlist). Then, in background, it updates durations using milliseconds - after you just started RB you can see that playlist duration counter is being increased.

I have a Playlist , before this beta version's released : its duration with RealPlayer : 45:25 , and with RB : 45:19 , and i explained it as RealPlayer puts the milliseconds in the duration whereas RB doesn't

With this Beta, and for the first time, that playlist's duration with RB is 45:25 , and that's how i knew ..  :)

Is the compression code included or do we need to install one (7z)

Dave,
It uses 7z only - you can also omit file extension when using the "createbackup" command - it will be appended automatically.
Compression/decompression code is included, no need to install anything.

I had set a schedule to create the backup files to run at 00:02:00 but it did not run until 01:15:18

I have quite a few schedules to generate playlist between 00:05:00 and every five minutes until 00:55:00 but none of then ran.

What info do you need to be sent over to investigate ?

If you run the task to create a backup manually - how much time does it take to complete? It looks like all further execution was blocked by the backup event.

I'll let you know if I need any more information on this, but I think I see where the problem is :) Currently you should disable the createbackup event until a new version is released.

Hello
I noticed the beta is loaded into the radio Boss version 4.9.0.7 on reboot no playlist! Also some new event (make library) do not go for example!

Hi dmitry

It only take a couple of seconds to complete the backup.

What came to my mind was the Popup telling me that the backup had been completed successfully. I did not note what time I pressed the OK button but it was way past 01:00:00 and was wondering if that has caused the other schedules not to run ?

I have disabled it for the time being.

Hello, I always had the feeling that something was wrong in the new crossfader "Trigger Mix".
Just realized where the problem is:
When activated by dB transition function, there is always a fade out, no matter what it is deactivated (even the blue stripe on the track panel, the present shows).

Do you mean playlists are not saved after you restart a program?

Also some new event (make library) do not go for example!
Please show the command you're using. Maybe there's syntax error.

Yes, I think the message box is the problem - while it stays, other events may not start. This will be fixed in .8

Yes, this is by design - it sets Fade Out and Mix points to the same position when "Trigger Mix" option is used.
How do you want it to be? I think a setting can be added to control it.

Hi Dmitry,

Just tested the .7 version. The virtual sound card seem to be working fine on the VM. But now I have an issue with the tracktool on my physical machine at home. Tracktool does not start playing track at all whatever the soundcard setting is.

Btw, on previous tracktool version it was not possible to save a comment at the same time than setting trigger (start, intro, ...). An error message asking to stop playback was dispayed even if playback is stoped. All settings but comment where save. I had to reopen and set comment on it's own to get it saved. Did dot test on .7 version has playback does not work.

Christian

Just found a new bug. I install .7 as an adserver.
It receive a stream, check for DTMF and replace audio by Ad playlist accordingly to what is schedule .
The resulat is send to icecast.

When DTMF is detect the task use an immediate insertion of the Ad playlist, after playing the content it remove the plallist ans get back to the audio stream.

The issue is that sometime (about 70% chance)  the playlist (currently a single file) is immedialty skipped in the RB playlist window but still played. The result is that both the Ad file and the stream are mixed.
I have the same issue when starting the task manually. Sometime the file is played normally then removed and the stream is back again. But most of the time the file is removed immediatly but still played and mixed with the stream.

In my opinion I think you should do the fade out according to the provisions in the field fade out, because if it does not have any sense this option.
We like a lot of overlap between the songs, so the new crossfader not useful.

Sorry, I really do not remember. but it may be because my notebook has windows 8 and only 1GB of RAM and often hang at startup applications for that. (Soon'll add more memory)
Other times as it takes too long to load, RadioBOSS accidentally run twice and fails to write the log (which gives me the feeling that "run only one instance" does not work perfectly)
What I do remember the last two bug reports:
I opened RadioBOSS and scope to do anything that was generated these two errors.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for the video. I suppose you have "Trigger mix at" option enabled in the Crossfades. Is it possible that advertisement tracks are low level and therefore MIX triggered at their beginning?
Try turning off "Trigger mix at" feature and see if the issue still exists.

Hello, today by the afternoon was listening my radio and note THE FOLLOWING in a list generated by PLGen pro:
In 4 tracks, 3 corresponded to the same artist.
Then look at the record and note that songs on their label containing "Belinda Ft Pitbull" are considered different from "Belinda" (at least 85% matches), what value is recommended?, Is there any plan to improve this?.

I think the log image best describes what story.

Thank you!.

Hello Dmitry, here I found new problems:
1 - When playing a streaming, metadata not updated, (perhaps this is to expand the buffer size), I mention this because it had implemented a compensation buffer to synchronize the metadata with the music.
Not sure if this error appeared in this beta or 4.8 RadioBOSS, what wilderness is that when implemented in RadioBOSS 4.7.x, worked perfect.
2 - On display covers, to enlarge the image, on several occasions I found files that contained large caratulas not even completely could show around the monitor, maybe it would be good in those cases Zoom out to be can visualize well.

Thanks

Edit:
I just realized that the problem is with icecast servers.
Previously worked well because it used shoutcast, icecast then migrate to, so maybe it never worked.

This is very important for us since we use a PC connected to the Internet with RadioBOSS studies to link the transmitter site, and metadata are seen by rds on the tuners.

also attached a link to the file that has the problem of cover that comment above

I think you should lower the percentage to something like 50%. The next version of Playlist Generator Pro will have a TEST button to test-drive the setting.

Please tell more about your setup - what is the source for Icecast and what format is used (mp3, ogg, ...).
If you play this Icecast stream in another player like Winamp - does it show the stream title?

2 - On display covers, to enlarge the image, on several occasions I found files that contained large caratulas not even completely could show around the monitor, maybe it would be good in those cases Zoom out to be can visualize well.
OK, it will resize the artwork to fit in the screen.

Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]
Post by: Christian on May 07, 2013, 04:26:34 AM
Actually it's an Icecast running as a Windows service on the local server.
It's the only way I found to be able to send Artist&Title information from the main RB to the RB used as an Ad server. The RB integrated streaming server does not support data and going through soundcard obviously not.
The main RB server connects to the local Icecast (aac+ 320kb/s). Every RB Ad server instances (running on  separate Windows instances) play the stream to a separate virtual audio card and detects DTMF from that virtual audio source. When DTMF is detected depending on Ad schedule the audio is replaced by the Ad Playlist. For Radionomy ad replacement every DTMF is replaced by a file from a random selection.

When I´m trying to drag music from outside the programm into the playlist.
Please make sure you're dragging directly to the playlist - in previous versions you can drag into any place in RB window, but now only playlist window accepts files.
If it still doesn't work - what OS are you using?

And the next problem is with broadcasting. When I broadcast and there is no song playing and I´m only speaking (microphone), then there is no streaming. I can only speak to the listeners when a song is playing in the background.
This bug will be tested. Currently you can enable the "Produce silent output" option in the Settings->Playback, probably it will fix this.

Do you think you can do that?

Hello, I encounter a problem when inserting tracks using the API:
when you insert a track, which contains the carater name "&" do not enter the full name in RB.
I realize that this problem occurs because the & is used to pass values to the program.
I think that a possible solution could be a code that tells the program that identifies this sign.
For Example code: "!-5!"
Original route: Britney Spears Ft Will.I.Am - Scream & Shout.mp3
Send to program: Britney Spears Ft Will.I.Am - Scream !-5! Shout.mp3
Thanks

In the Cart Machine set the option to enter before the next song in order to give the possibility of overlap over the original one even before the song.
If you want to play intro for a song, I think it will be easier to use voice track (or simply insert a track into playlist). Or I didn't understand you correctly?

Hello, I encounter a problem when inserting tracks using the API:
when you insert a track, which contains the carater name "&" do not enter the full name in RB.
It happens because you didn't encode the request. In PHP, you should use urlencode function for parameters.

This is how it's supposed to be - tracks with clock icon are not saved. It was changed in 4.9.

As I see, you start 5000 track playlist using scheduler event, so you can check the option in the event "Do not mark tracks as scheduled tracks".

1 - at the begining of the video notice that I have placed a keyword in "comment"
2 - when setting the "Fade out" flag music playback stops, this is the only flag with this issue
3 - I stop playback but when I click "Ok" to save there is an error message. This only occur when setting a "comment"
4 - when I reopen the same file all information are saved except the "comment"
5 - I need to reenter the comment and nothing else to be able to save.

tracks that have a default background color in the list, lose their color to start playback.
Can you please post a screenshot? Note that playlist coloring works fully only if you have Windows themes enabled.

I previously notify a few bugs with the track tool. They are still there. Maybe my explanations where not easy to undersatnd so I made a video to explain.
Thanks for video and details - I think it will be fixed in the next update.

I'm sorry, I know where was the problem:
The problem was presented in an event that had activated the option "send to the server event title", so their metadata were replaced at the start of reproduction in and therefore was losing its color.

Hi Dmitry,

I previously notify a few bugs with the track tool. They are still there. Maybe my explanations where not easy to undersatnd so I made a video to explain.

5 - I need to reenter the comment and nothing else to be able to save.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5037719/TT.avi

Christian
Christian, I tried to do exactly as you din in the video, and issue is not reproduced...
- Fade Out doesn't stop the playback
- Clicking OK saves all the information correctly

Does it happen always or only on some specific files? If only on some files, please send one of them to support@djsoft.net

Also make sure you're using the latest beta (4.9.0.10).

Can you please give some details on what's wrong under Windows 8 with microphone? RadioBOSS compatible with any Windows OSes starting from Windows 2000/XP all the way up to the Windows 8.

So Windows 8 is the Micro to schwach.Kein real Bass.Es just sounds Tinny on. Man listening to music in the background while they are still running .. Quietly listening to music though the micro level setting - is set 60! It's the same attitude that has been running perfectly with Windows 7. The music itself is perfect. Only the micro alone makes trouble

Do you want to completely silence the music while using MIC?
I think a screenshot of mic settings window would be helpful.

Hi, I have a question.
I'm finishing the development of a php application that will allow the audience based program tracks to a playlist shown. (At scheduled times), On the side of my pc is a small program that handles inserting through RB api using the position "-2" which inserts after the current track.
I meet a limitation: the last user will insert a song to be played. and maybe the first request to go postponing never played.
Any idea to solve this?

Also I have a request:
e are tired of our FM transmission air cutting internet problems.
Adding more buffer RB improved a bit but the problems continue.
We also buy routers load balancers that have the function "fail over" that if a connection used to cut other, but also to no avail. seems a little research on the Transmit cuts are generated by packet loss.
By the distance between studios and transmission plant (200 km) is the only option possible Internet, satellite links are very expensive and we make it impossible.

On the internet we found a team to links on the internet that has a redundancy streaming (using 2 ISP) which apparently allows you to find the lost packets or something. more information here:
http://www.aptcodecs.com/radio-products-32-135-4.html
Based on the idea of using two ISPs and two streaming I happened to develop something similar using radioboss. of course will not have the function to find lost packets etc.
My idea is this:
-2 RB facilities on the same pc each with different ISP and a network card assigned for playing streaming a connection each other.(Playing streaming all the time and come by emitting the same sound card, but an instance of RB have the volume to 0)

if radioboss could move immediately to the next track by constant control of the record could realize that the connection was cut using the command api and increase the volume to another installation of RB and download it in this.

I would be very useful to write in the RB register when finished charging the buffer to restore the volume and lower the backup facility.

besides this feature would be very useful for when encountering a problem in streaming playback more then you know exactly what happened.
Example:
00:50 "loading buffer"
00:53 "He started reproduction in" (this high value could indicate that the connection worked very slow)

perhaps this is a mistake:
Today I wanted to simulate a cut Internet: While streaming radioboss was receiving disconnect the network cable from my pc and then to empty the buffer was completely hung radioboss about 10 or 15 seconds. in the status bar said "Not Responding" (this on RB 4.9.10)

Thanks for help.

I suppose you're implementing some sort of a song request system?

One of the solutions would be to add new requested songs to the playlist each 5-10 minutes (not immediately after requesting*). This delay is needed to allow RadioBOSS to finish the current track and start next one.

Another solution is to add requested songs to the end of the playlist.

*Also, AFAIK most of the stream licensing companies do not allow immediate playback of a requested song.

Also I have a request:
e are tired of our FM transmission air cutting internet problems.
Adding more buffer RB improved a bit but the problems continue.
I'm afraid RB doesn't have such facilities to deal with bad Internet connection and currently there are no plans to add those... mostly because there are too few users who will benefit from it, while developing such a thing is pretty expensive.

You mentioned this: http://www.aptcodecs.com/radio-products-32-135-4.html - from the description this looks like a solution. Did you try using it?

Insert tracks into a temporary list is a good idea, so I think I will implement.
I do not like the idea of the end of the list, because if one day is few requests terminate and reproduction in silence detector was activated.

about what licenses never heard, anyway here in Argentina nobody controls anything, some radios emit other, when they have no programming, or even leave a cd's all day on repeat.

Here is my system (still in development):
http://musiccarhue.zz.mu/Del.php
Inserts 5 Songs by ip every day.
It works at scheduled times (you can make requests at any time). eg today will be able to add songs until 14 hours (here are the 12:20 p.m.).
The user is selected above shows one bounded and play list to not played any subject.
but I have access with a pass to the php, allowing me to look at any play list, and insert songs at any time, plus some commands to restart the pc for example.
I still need to see how I do to not permit to insert the same item twice, and not repeat the same artist for half an hour for example.

I do not agree that this is only for "Connections bad", the evidence in this year and a half I've been dealing with this sub showed any connexion minor cuts and packet loss.
Neither probe this system SureStream, but never pedi the implementation of something like this for RadioBOSS, as I understand it is very difficult / expensive to implement.
My idea goes through, try to make some redundant system without needing to checking data packets, etc..
I will work on this next month.
but I would be very useful in the registry store when I finish loading the buffer (and therefore playback started) then there recently I retake of a connection "B" back to the "A", increasing the volume of A, and less of B.
Even I have to see how to assign a different internet connection to each instance of RB.

For this I also need to solve the problem of hang tarball that has internet radioboss when cut, otherwise there will be a pause of 10 seconds before it is passed to the other instance of RB.

With the default settings (5 second buffer) the playback starts immediately. Probably reporting of buffer fill will be added in the future update - I need to think about it.
I'd suggest you to look at that SureStream thing, you can use it together with RB via VAC. I don't really want to move RB into "dealing with bad network connections" path... Please understand.

Ok, I agree.
Not understand "I'd suggest you to look at that thing SureStream, you can use it together with RB via VAC", I use google translator.
Right now I'm starting to think / build an application to solve this problem (as I said before using two radioboss facilities).
The question is how I assign to the two instances of radioboss different networks?.

Not understand "I'd suggest you to look at that thing SureStream, you can use it together with RB via VAC", I use google translator.
The meaning is to try SureStream - I think it would be a better solution (and easier to setup) than using 2 RadioBoss'es :)

The question is how I assign to the two instances of radioboss different networks?.
One of the solutions (easiest to setup but expensive) is to have two PC's - each of them have their own connection and run own copy of RadioBOSS.

You can also try looking for a software solution... But I'm not sure if one exists.

Also RadioBOSS can use proxy server for network stream playback (Settings-Playback-Miscellaneous), I think you can somehow use it - eg. setup two different proxies each of them using different networks.
Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]
Post by: nelson c on May 26, 2013, 10:51:10 AM
Of course it is a better option used radioboss! :)
Besides this I will incorporate a scpit I currently use, in which if the connection is slowly changing to another current lowest, which decreased the possibility of even more cuts. this equipment such a thing is impossible, also do not know the cost but I think it is cheap.

I think the ideal solution is that everything is on the same pc.
I'm putting together a new pc since the core 2 duo I run for the new Composite guy who added stereo clipper tool.
An i3 will be enough for this setup? (on my other pc with i3 stereo tool consumes 40-50% of the processor, to what would have to add the two instances of RB.)

It does not seem appropriate to use two pc by:
1-Costs.
2-would need 4 network cards and two professional soundcards.
3-Here the most important point: After the departure of RB stereotool stand alone is that it's output goes directly to the transmitter. When using 2 pc would increase the noise and the loss of quality because the sound must be digitized twice.

Just found a application that allows just what I need (Nat32 called IP router). seems a bit complicated to set up, I'll see what I can do.

It can play any videos for which you have a codec installed. I'd recommend you installing K-Lite Mega Codec Pack from http://codecguide.com - it allows to play virtually any video.

and about Plugins , could you give me something to understand what they are using for ?
VST and Winamp DSP plugins are used to process sound. RadioBOSS has own processing like Compressor, Equalizer, AutoAmp - plugins can give you more advanced tools for sound processing.

MIC button is removed when you have no device selected for MIC Button in the settings. Please open Settings->Inputs and make sure you have a device selected.

so plugins let us take advantage of other Audio Programs' features within Radio Boss , right ?
if you could give me a page where i can find advanced details , it'd be great ..

i have another question , when i make a block of tracks out of crossfading ( by file type feature ) , the track before this block is still mixing with this block , is that normal ? i want this block to be completely out of crossfading , i can handle this manually , but it'd be better to have this automatically ..

I have created a new "Cart-Maschine" and have there insterted any jingles.
If i click now on any jingle, the audio track is fading out, the jingle plays and the oudio track fade in.
But i have often the problem, that the aoudio track is not fading in, so the volumen is reduced as the jingle plays. then i must close and restart RadioBoss, then all works perfekt für any time?
This may be a fault?

Currently only DSP plugins are supported - the plugins to process the sound.
Do you need information on how to install plugins?

For the crossfading quiestion - the feature to disable mixing a file type with other file types or music will be added in one of the 4.9.x updates.

First of all I imported profile (.prf) file from RB 4.8.x.x
After that I tried to set backround colour for three different file types.
Every time I did that Main Playlist was cleared.
That repeated for all trials to set background colours (three times)[size=78%].[/size]

After I set all bg colour files from Main Playlist no more empty Playlist, I could change bg colour without problems.

Maybe that situation will be repeated for any new files.

Hi Dmitry, I am very happy with RB 4.9 :).
I wanted to remind my requests for radioboss 5.0, the order in order of importance:

1 - Ads climate:
Recently as many stations bought a digital weather station, which provides weather data in txt files.
For now this is shown to the audience for RDS, but I would like this to be played by radioboss (including a soft feature as basic as ZaraRadio).
There are many weather data gives us the meteorological station (temperature, wind speed, wind direction, daily rainfall, atmospheric precione, humidity, etc..)
But I think for now it would have to announce to the audience the temperature, humidity and would be great ads daily rainfall (only announce when than 0.0 mm)

2 - Jingles automated: Play automatically pisadores on points "Intro" song, according to the name of the artist or genre.

3 - Sigue Editor make the crossfaders on the current track.

4 - Send notifications of errors by email (Example is active silence detector, it lost the connection to the server, etc.)

5 - New skins, also would be good for users to design skins for example we could use png or jpg images.

6 - An auxiliary player, sometimes you have to play tracks in simultaneous and uncomfortable assigning tracks like effects.

7 - enable use winamp dsp for the microphone (I have understood that this disabled because the application has problems if used twice in the same plugin as the main output as well). I also like that the microphone processing extends to track voice recorder

Thank you, Nelson.

I'm afraid we don't have such a list here. You can browse Winamp DSP plugin list and try google for VST plugins. Some of the common ones are StereoTool, SoundSolution.
Which plugins to use depends on your needs.

1- I can see " compressor "' as a plug-in , and I can see a difference between it and AutoAmp feature , yet can't tell , aren't both of them automatically adjusting the volume level ? so what's the difference ?
They work slightly different. AutoAmp is supposed to be better for music while Compressor is better for microphone.

2- i see settings for broadcasting as a built-in feature , and i see RadioCaster , can't we broadcast without RadioCaster ?
You can broadcast using integrated broadcasting feature - RadioCaster is not required.
But in some cases RadioCaster is useful.

3- is this product Russian ?
I'd say it's international :)

4 - Send notifications of errors by email (Example is active silence detector, it lost the connection to the server, etc.)
Yes, something like this is planned. I think it will be able to do HTTP request or send an e-mail.

5 - New skins, also would be good for users to design skins for example we could use png or jpg images.
There's an experimental skin engine in RadioCaster - do you want something like this in RB, or you would like something more customizable?

7 - enable use winamp dsp for the microphone (I have understood that this disabled because the application has problems if used twice in the same plugin as the main output as well). I also like that the microphone processing extends to track voice recorder
Yes, technically using Winamp or VST plugins is possible, it's jsut disabled for now. I think it will be enabled in the newer versions - it will just produce a warning message when one plugin is used twice.
I'm not sure about VT recorder... Maybe it will have its own DSP list.

Highlight doesn't work in Scheduler after modified settings in View -> Window Font

Update :
All is OK after RB restart.
Did that appear only once or it still happens sometimes?

I agree with Nelson C with number 4 of his comment
Just want to add my 2 cents to that: can that have an option of sending a text message to a phone number if those errors happens. I think that would be more effective.
Error notification will have a HTTP request feature so I think you can have a script which will send you an SMS :) I'm not sure if it's possible to create SMS feature which would work in all countries...

It happened twice and I saw it.
When I stop RB and when I restart it the Main Playlist was empty.
That is not normal.

In General Settings it is checked "Resume Playback".

It happened again and again.
That is a serious bug.
When you say you "stop RB" - does it mean you close it? After you stop it, do you restart your PC or do something else?
You say Main playlist becomes empty - what about other playlists, are their contents preserved?

1 - Ads climate:
2 - Jingles automated: Play automatically pisadores on points "Intro" song, according to the name of the artist or genre.
3 - Sigue Editor make the crossfaders on the current track.
6 - An auxiliary player, sometimes you have to play tracks in simultaneous and uncomfortable assigning tracks like
effects.
This is planned for one of the nearest versions.
That is good :).

4 - Send notifications of errors by email (Example is active silence detector, it lost the connection to the server, etc.)
Yes, something like this is planned. I think it will be able to do HTTP request or send an e-mail.
This will be very useful certainly.
I found an application of competition RadioLogger that has this feature. maybe will be useful at a glance.

5 - New skins, also would be good for users to design skins for example we could use png or jpg images.
There's an experimental skin engine in RadioCaster - do you want something like this in RB, or you would like something more customizable?
If RadioCaster skins are very good. I think it might be a good solution for now. maybe in another stage would be good that the user can design other skins (as in old winamp 2.x for example).

Quote
7 - enable use winamp dsp for the microphone (I have understood that this disabled because the application has problems if used twice in the same plugin as the main output as well). I also like that the microphone processing extends to track voice recorder
Yes, technically using Winamp or VST plugins is possible, it's jsut disabled for now. I think it will be enabled in the newer versions - it will just produce a warning message when one plugin is used twice.
I'm not sure about VT recorder... Maybe it will have its own DSP list.
Ok, I hope so.

One more doubt, is in the plans, automatic announcement rainfall?, (I know of a software that does it and I think it may be a good idea.)

Thanks, Nelson.

Yes, I closed RB. But not the content of playlist .m3u8 is empty. The content of the Main Playlist player was empty, even it was full and Schedule is ON.

At restart no track in Main Playlist and no playlist is loaded even "Resume Playback" is checked.

That is happening in Windows XP PRo SP3.

I think I know why that it is happening.
I stop (close) RB when I play line in with RRA retransmission.
After restart Main Playlist panel has no track.
Can it be becouse of LineIN? Does LineIN have "resume"?

Thanks for fixing this annoing bug.

I think most users will just use the supplied skins and never design their own :)
Most likely, the skin engine will be included in RadioBOSS 5.0.

Maybe it will be a part of automatic weather announcement feature.

I think I know what the problem is. RadioBOSS 4.9 doesn't save scheduled entries (those with "clock" icon) when saving playlist contents - it preserves only normal tracks (the "note" icon). Is this the case?

So, in this case (on a screenshot), after you close and restart RB you'll have only two tracks left: #1 and #6, others will be removed because they were inserted by scheduler. Is this the problem? I think a setting can be added to control this.

Thanks for the video - the source of the problem is what I supposed it was: RB doesn't save scheduled tracks in the playlists (all tracks with the Clock icon are not saved)... That's why it cannot resume.
I think it will be resolved somehow in the next update.

The "synchronization" feature you've asked previously would help with this. I'll think about it again, there's a chance it will be added in RB 5.0.

Can you please give some specifics on the problem? Ctrl+Z undoes the last edit in the playlist.

Apologize for the bad expression.
By using "Undo" from the list shown in bold (so like current track) the track that was playing at the time is restored, and the panel is displayed correctly the name of the current track. tell me if I am not clear and attached a screenshot

I've noticed a few references to microphone challenges - hope I'm not repeating a previously logged question. My mic is external to the PC, connected to the LINE-IN jack (after a channel strip), and controlled by RadioBOSS. I am using RadioBOSS to host a streaming station.

If "Output to encoders only" is checked, the mic audio is not transmitted - the listener only hears silence.

If "Output to encoders only" is NOT checked, I hear the slightly delayed mic audio in the main monitors, and the audio is transmitted.

Mic audio is captured correctly in "Record voice track".

Using v 4.9.0.11

Input
MIC button: [WASAPI] Line in at rear panel (Pink)
Music level: -7 dB
Fade in/out: 0.4 sec
Mic amplifier: +0 dB
Push-To-Talk: Not checked
Output to encoders only: Not checked
Input 1 (Line.In) - No device
Input 2 (Line2.In) - No device

Playback
Main (on-air) soundcard - [WASAPI] Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Monitor soundcard - No device
Jingles output device - Main soundcard
Cart wall output device - Main soundcard
Preview device - [DS] No sound

Are you using RB's broadcasting encoders or it's RadioCaster? Your setup seems correct. I've just tried a similar one, and MIC was correctly broadcasted...

Dave,

Please confirm that you're using the latest RB 4.9.0.11 (not any intermediate beta release).
How many encoders do you have - are there any inactive encoders in the list?

Hi Dmitry,

4.9.011 confirmed via caption bar and About box.

There are three inactive encoders in the list.
- 128K MP3
- 128K AAC
- 256K MP3

Should I remove them?
Title: Re: RadioBOSS 4.9 [beta]

I tried removing the inactive encoders, leaving only the active encoder.

Still not getting mike audio from the selected LINE-IN when "Output to encoders only" is checked.

I'll keep trying different combinations.

In this morning RB did not start my resume playback, as usual, but there is something new. It started auxiliary playlist and when I started from SCheduler the playlist (Run now) wich should start from the beginning RB played both : the auxiliary and playlist from scheduler.

I stoped RB becouse that was the only one solution to stop auxiliary playlist.

A serious BUG makes me crazy.
I have checked "Resume Playback".
Sometimes I shut down the PC.

After restart Auxiliary playlist starts even if I push Stop button.
The emergency playlist does not stop after I press stop button.
So I always close RB and restart it again and reload manualy my playlist from Scheduler.

PLEASE, FIX THIS HORRIBLE BUG IN THIS CENTURY.  >:(

I need the FIX YESTERDAY !

Stop adding to the list. DO SOMETHING.

I've just tried the following:
- RB plays scheduled playlist with "Resume playback" on
- RB restarted, scheduled playlist is removed, nothing is started to play
- Silence Detector loads the Aux Playlist
- I click Stop button and it stops as it should...

Can you please give more information on this bug, eg. what are the steps to reproduce it?

The next release is planned for Jun 23 (but date can be moved) - anyway the fix will be available in this century for sure :)

An invalid track path and then RB Restart. I would like if RB find an incorrect path to do not restart or freeze.
It doesn't restart or freeze - when the path is invalid, file does not exist or can not be read for some reason, it will just show an error message Unable to play! Error code = 2 (unable to open the file/invalid server address) and move on to the next file in the playlist.
If it crashes on your PC - check it for viruses first, as I said before, the error reports are strange and it looks like the error is outside of RB.
If it worked fine before - then check what changed in the system, probably it's the source of the problem.

That's what I'm talking about - software programs can not break. They always works the same. If it worked fine before but now doesn't work - that means, the reason is outside of the program :)
