Sorry if I have confused you.  What I am trying to achieve is to switch effectively between automatic mode and manual (announcer assist) mode.   The automatic functions work brilliantly at present, but the manual ones need some further attention if this is to be of greatest use.

As you say, this can be done already in part by using the "stop after next track" button:  this enables announcer to manually start any tracks in the playlist.  Great facility!

However, when in this mode, the announcer must also turn the scheduler to "manual" to prevent scheduled events from playing.  Both actions must take place when automatic operation is restored (remove tick from manual in the scheduler and press the "stop after next track" button).  This works, but is messy, and there is a danger that a presenter might fail to reinstate one of the two actions when returning to automatic mode.

What would be more suitable would be a single new button (AUTOMATIC/MANUAL PLAY) that achieved both actions together.

The benefit of this modification is that the announcer could manually start any music tracks, PLUS any event (including ads) that flashed up on the scheduler to alert the announcer but did not play until RUN NOW was pressed...   or even better if a double mouse click could be used to start an event in the scheduler as it does for the music tracks.    I hope this clarifies our suggestion.    :P

For example, when next 5000 is scheduled as a stand-alone event, the current track fades and the next track plays satisfactorily.  But if the command is incorporated in a playlist, such as to play an event as follows, the event starts at the BEGINNING of the fade rather than at the end.

11.59.55 next 5000
12.00.00 news.mp3

I can live with this by not scheduling the "next" command in the playlist

How To Guides / How to make RadioBOSS play music at the same volume
« Last post by djsoft on December 08, 2019, 08:53:45 AM »
You can use the track normalization feature in RadioBOSS.

RadioBOSS uses EBU R128 standard to determine loudness. Normalizing does not change or re-encode music files. Any level corrections are reversible and do not reduce sound quality.

Process multiple tracks using the Music Library:
1. Add tracks to the library and select the ones you want to process.
2. In the top menu, click Tools->Process Tracks.
3. Click the "Start" button in the "Normalize" area. If necessary, you can change the target level value.

You can proces one track using the Track Tool: click the Auto button near the playback level slider.

For best results, it is recommended to have all tracks processed.

If you have scheduled music library updates, you can also make it process new tracks automatically.
Beta versions (development) / Re: RadioBOSS 5.9 [beta]

It seems once this -1 is encountered it cannot detect the BPM
It will skip the track if you have the "Skip tracks with BPM set" option enabled and the BPM field is not empty (has a BPM value or -1) - this is to avoid scanning tracks that were already scanned.
The BPM always produces the same value - there's no point in scanning a track again if you already got a result (or -1).

Does this imply if you select something you can do it on just the section as currently it runs through whole library :
It only processes tracks that are selected in the list.

This finished leaving the -1 on screen in the Music library windows and  seems to have not changed the records.
The value will be updated in tags and in the music librtary as well. You can try opening Track Tool to confirm if the value actually presents there. It saves this data in APEv2 tag (if you did not change this in settings), so works for all file formats, except for FLAC and WAV where it saves the data to NTFS alternative stream.

I selected these records and tight Click Menu "Exported to Player " This strangely exported all the tracks  not just the selected
Yes, exporting only selected tracks makes more sense - we'll change how this command works.

If it's inserted to the playlist, but you have the "stop after this track" option enabled, it will not start this command at all, as it will stop after the playing track.

Can you please tell me what end result you would like to achieve?
Feature Requests / Re: Hotkey combination for archive recording

When you start recording, it first shows a window that asks for file name and other options, and currently there's no way to pause/unpause it. You can probably use the API https://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/remote_controlapi.htm to call the streamatrchive command however this will be sort of complicated. With hot key, it can simply start the recording using the last parameters, but I'm not sure if it fits the purpose.
