1. what happens when the sound returns to a live stream?
2. is this also valid when a stream URL is added to a playlist?

In this case, it will start playing Live stream. If silence option is off, it will not check for the silence on the live stream and continue playing silence.

No, this option does not check URL's that play in the playlist. Those URLs are only stopped if the stream becomes unplayable (stream ends, connection is broken etc). If you have the silence notifications enabled in Settings, General, then it will notify you about silence in the playing stream.

Silence Detector, the one that's used for Live Streaming in RadioBOSS Cloud, will detect silence in the live stream, and when it's detected, it will switch to playing the Cloud's playlist.
In previous versions, without the silence detector, it only fallback to playing the playlist when the live stream was disconnected. Now it will detect the case when the stream is connected, but streaming silence.

That’s great to know. Is it possible to confirm how long silence needs to be before the disconnection happens please? How many seconds ?

Just confirming—does the silence detector also apply to relay streams, live DJs, and direct stream URLs?
Some of our stations went off-air during the early hours, but there was still a faint equipment hum audible. Would the silence detector recognize this as silence? Thanks.

It does apply, but there are differences:

• Relay: when the silence is detected, it stops relaying and switches to playing the playlist (in the background it checks when the silence ends to resume relaying)
• Playlist (including URL playback and any other items): when the silence is detected it will be logged and e-mail notification will be sent (if it's enabled in the settings).
