adsupdate -skipevents not updating playlists for expired ads

Hi Djsoft,

I am experiencing an issue with the Ads Scheduler in RadioBOSS version 7.1.6.2

We have several advertisements scheduled in the Ads Scheduler that reach their expiration dates. However, when the automatic command adsupdate -skipevents triggers, it does not update the playlists (.m3u8 files). (Images 1-2)

As a result, the expired ads remain in the generated playlists and continue to play.

If we open the Ads Scheduler and manually click on "Create playlist and events", the playlists update perfectly and the expired ads are correctly removed. (Image 3)

The issue seems strictly related to the adsupdate -skipevents command, which fails to rebuild the playlists to reflect the expired campaigns.

How can we resolve this issue? Is this a known bug in this version, or is there an additional parameter we should use?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello,
Please check the 3 boxes in "Create playlists and events". This should update your playlists and ad events (a message, in French, has just been sent to you).

Hi Guillaume,

Thank you very much for your reply and your help!

The problem with checking those boxes is that I absolutely do not want RadioBOSS to automatically add the ad breaks to the main scheduler. I manage the scheduling myself by directly loading the .m3u8 playlists via my own custom events.

This is exactly why I use the adsupdate -skipevents command: its purpose is to generate and update the playlists without creating the events in the scheduler.

While the -skipevents parameter successfully prevents the creation of scheduled events, the bug is that it fails to properly update the .m3u8 files to remove expired ads. If I check the boxes to create events, it will mess up my manual scheduling workflow.

Viva la France !!! ;)
