The only thing that matters is if your computer's IP address is constant and if it's available from Internet. You can try accessing it from another computer or mobile phone, e.g. using a browser and issuing any command, you should even try it with a wrong password (for security reasons) - the point is to check if RadioBOSS is reachable. If everything works, you will get a text response from RadioBOSS stating that the password is wrong. If it doesn't work, you will get an error like "Unable to connect".
