[closed] Voice track not inserted properly - track2 starts immediatly

Hi ,

In version 4.7.4.1 it apears that voice track are not played as expected. Actually Voice track starts at apropriate time (triggered at 'Outro' of track1). But track2 also starts immediatly at its 'Start' timestamp.
So during voice track there is the end of track1, the begining of track2 playing and the voice track over. At the end of the voice track if it is short there is still the end of track1 playing mixed with track2!
It's a real mess :(

PS : I just did some more tests.
When inserting with the menu "Insert voice track" it is not listed in the "comming up next" and it is played right at the end of track1 and over 'Intro' of 'track2'. That is ok.

I need to be able to scedule voice tracks in the PlGenPro right inbetween specific tracks or shows. Also even when using the menu to insert the voice track you canot move it to another place.
Is ther a way to specify alignment ? Start at 'Outro' of track1 or ends at the end of 'Intro' of track2 ?

Christian

File is treated as a Voice Track only when it's located in the voice tracks folder. If you move it out of there (or save it to another folder) - the track is not a voice track anymore for the program... This is will be fixed in the next update 4.7.4.2. I hope Alignment feature will be there too.

Hello,

File is treated as a Voice Track only when it's located in the voice tracks folder.

Yes I know the file remains in that folder. That is not very convenient as the folder is somewhere in the user personal seting folder, but this is a minor issue. I have not not tried yet but I guess I can setup a Windows Symbolic Link as a workarround.

For now I am really talking about files from the voice track folder but inserted by the PlGenPro and not the menu "insert voice track"

Christian

Do you mean that when voice track is inserted manually it's working fine, but when the same VT is inserted via Playlist Generator - it doesn't?

Yes, inserted via the menu "Playlist" "Insert voice track" it's working fine
Inserted by the PlGenPro it doesn't.
In both case it appears in Italic in the playlist but it is not correctly played when inserted by PlGenPro

Christian

I've checked it and it works fine... It appears in italic and mixed according to settings. I also checked the code, and there's no way mixing could be different for tracks from playlist generator.

Could you please give a step-by-step instruction to reproduce this?

Also I think I need this info:
- how much in seconds is outro of first track and intro of second
- what is VT duration

Hi Dmitry,

The bug is still there in RB 4.7.6.0.
I send you a mail where you can download the 2 musical files I used, the voicetrack file and a video of what is appening.

Did you reproduce the issue with the files I sent to you ? When can I expect a fix ?
Yes, the issue was reproduced. Thanks for files and video, that really helped. The fix should be available soon in the RB 4.7.6.1 minor update.

Christian, please try the latest RadioBOSS 4.7.6.1 release: http://dl.djsoft.net/radioboss_demo.exe
It should fix the VT problem you reported.

Hi Dmitry,

Yes ! This works great with the long voice track of 43 seconds I provided. It is smooth, voicetrack bed plays when needed. This is really nice. I tested different configurations and it's all good.
BUT I also tried with a short voice track of 13 seconds I still have the exact same previous issue. Track1 and Track2 overlaps.

Just use the same 2 tracks and create a short voice track to reproduce the issue.

Christian

Fixed. Minor updates are not extensively tested... but I hope this time VT playback is 100% correct.

Another fix: in Playlist window Intro/Outro were shown incorrectly when Cue In and/or Cue Out points were set.

Hi,

It is fixed when "closer to second track intro" is selected but NOT when "closer to first track outro", in that case the two tracks still overlap!

Christian

I'd suggest using the "Closer to second track intro" option... There are playlist engine limitations, so with "Closer to first track outro" option tracks will overlap.

I also think that "Closer to first track outro" option will be removed in the future to make things less complicated.

Hi Dmitry,

That is ok for me "closer to second track intro" would have been the selected option in most casses anyway. And how it works would have been difficult to understand by most users I agree on that too.

I think so too. "Closer to second track intro" is good. And there's not much value added by another option.

That's why I'm thinking about removing the "Closer to first track outro" instead of fixing it. There are too few situations when it's needed (I can't imagine even one).

Thank you for your input about voice tracking, it helped to make software better.
