I asked for customized Genre. I received it and I do thank you.
I would like an improvement, becouse as it is now it is not good enough for me.

Right now Genre autoload in its list all genre which "sees" them in tracks.
But I want to customize Genre inadifferent way, after: holidays, special events etc., etc.
That is becouse I need to use Genre filter to generate specific (event) tracks in PGPro.

So, if you understand my need I would like you help me: a setting option which disable Genre autoload. Or your ideea with the same result :)

Thanks a lot !

The genre list is not filled from the tracks, but it's maintained automatically when you edit tags and it adds new genres to the list.

You can customize genre list from Track Tool - click the "..." button near the genre list. You can prepare text files with genres you need at the particular moment and copy-paste them to the genre list.

Or another ideea...

I add some custom genre and close the list.
Even if I edit track if the Genre from track do not corespond with Genre's List then do not assign it.

In this way I can select manually Genre for tracks or group of tracks.

That will be awesome and very usefull.

Think about it; it is a good idea :)

Do you mean it should clear the track's genre if the genre is not in the genre list?

Exactly! But that just as an option, becouse other people can find my request very freak.

This looks like a very specific feature... I think there's another solution to clear the genre - you can use Music Library to mass edit tracks.

Yes, I already do it. But sometimes I need more than one feature to filter.
For example:
- A music for Easter (will be solved in Genre as cathegory);
- Romanian and Medium as rithm (That is solved in File Type);
- To be for encouragement (That will be solved in Comment field of the Track).

I know many radio station which needs this type of filtering. I realised that it can be easily done in RadioBOSS by File Type, Genre and Comment field.

I cannot add many attribute filters in Comment field becouse will be almost impossible to ask for an array of characteristics. But combining FileType, Genre and Comment I can achieve my  objective: a fast easy complex filtering.

Where do you use such filters? There was another suggestion recently to introduce categories - will that help?

Yes, will help a lot.
In PLGPro I can combine Library and from track I use Comment and Genre. 3 in 1

So in PGPro I have the source of the track
- From track source I select the Library (which can be Medium Foreign Music, or Rithmic Romanian Music, assigned with FileType);
- From Filters I select:
  • Comment (which stands for: encouragement, motivational, sadness etc.)
  • Genre (large domain of Cathegory: Easter, Christmas, New Year, Mother's day etc.)
PGPro is a "monster" if you know how to use it.

It appears that genre is not really used as genre in your case :) I think the new category management should help in filtering the songs, although I'm not sure when it's going to be implemented - the list for the upcoming RadioBOSS 5.6 is quite full already.

Of course it is not. It replaces Category :)
