No Line Input Source Option

I recently upgraded my RadioBoss from version 4.1 to the new 4.5 version...  Now I CANNOT select an input source in the mic/line tab of settings.  The source drop down is either grayed out or is blank.  I am running Windows XP Pro, so I tried switching from DirectSound to Windows Mixer Control.  I get the same results with either setting.  This feature worked perfect on my previous version.  After sending several emails to support with response, I decided to reinstall my old version.  It however, tells me that the key that I received with version 4.5 isn't valid.  I tried using the key that I got with 4.1, after entering the key it tells me to restart RadioBoss, but when I restart, it is still the trial version! (I did this process several times always getting the same result).
The automated switch from the Stereo Mix to the Line Input is a must!  So, can someone tell me how to get this new version to work, or better yet, how I can go back to my old version and NOT be in a Trial Version?!?

Yes, in the newer versions (starting from 4.5) RadioBOSS uses the system setting for source and doesn't allow to change it from its own setting. On Windows XP it's still possible to use the "Windows Mixer Control". First, select "Windows Mixer control", then set the "Device" to soundcard you want to use and after that, the "Source" will be populated with possible settings. Just tried it under Windows XP SP3...

About using the older version, 100% solution will be to reinstall Windows.
Another possible solution: after entering the key to 4.1 version, start 4.5 - it should say that key you have is not valid and prompts to click "No" to revert to default certificate - click "No" (this should clear RadioBOSS keys from the system). Then start 4.1 again and enter the key.

As mentioned in my post...  I have tried BOTH "DirectSound" AND "Windows Mixer Control" with the same results...  SOURCE IS BLANK.  If you aware that this new version doesn't have  control, is there any plan to make this option work again, or would an earlier version like 4.4 have this feature working? If so, how do I get my hands on another working version?

I do want to mention that I do like some of the updates that you add to version 4.5.  If it weren't crucial that the line input feature worked, I would be quite pleased with this version!

Yes, the 4.4 version has this feature. We have no plans of adding it back - this feature provides more problems than advantages... (incorrect work with some sound cards, muted sound sometimes, etc). That's why it was removed

The strange thing is that "source" field is blank. I don't know why could this happen. What sound card do you use? The "Windows mixer control" is the same it was in previous versions...
