Playlist Generator / Genres

Hi,

I've been playing around with the Demo for an hour or so and the only thing
really keeping me from purchasing it is that I cannot figure out if the
program is capable of producing the type of playlists we need.

We have our music organized in folders and sub-folders according to genre
(Jazz, Soul, Funk, 60s Rock, 70s Rock, etc.) We also have a few jingles and
PSA's that need to be inserted.

Now I can see in the Playlist Generator that I can create random playlists
based on time or song numbers with jingles inserted. But it appears that I am
limited to creating playlists from the total music database or filtered by the
comment area of the MP3. What I need, however, is the ability to create genre
based playlists based on song directories.

Examples:

1. We want to create a 2-hour random Jazz playlist with jingles inserted every
10 songs. The playlist would only use songs from our Jazz directory with the
ability to use Jazz sub-directories as well if we desire.

2. We want to create a 7 hour Rock playlist with jingles inserted every 10
songs. But in this case we don't want to use the main Rock directory. We
only want to use the 50's Rock, 60s Rock and 70s Rock sub-directories.

If Radio Boss can perform these functions, please let me know.

It is possible to do what you need with Playlist Generator, but it needs a
little setup.
Playlist Generator can filter tracks by "Comment" field, so the only thing
you need, is to put genre name into the comment field.
I.e. comment for tracks in the Jazz folder will be "jazz", for Rock60's you
can use "rock60", etc.
Then, in the playlist generator on Step 2 in the comment field enter the
genre you want to use.
To edit "Comment" values, it is good idea to use Music Library program, you
can select all the tracks in the Jazz folder, in the right-click menu select
Tag editor, enter new comment and press OK - newcomment will be set to all
selected tracks.
