RadioCaster creates a copy of its settings file, so sometimes it can restore its settings in case when main settings file is missing or corrupted. If it still doesn't help in your case, then you should create settings backup and restore it when needed.pety said:All the time when PC crashes RadioCaster starts without encoders (streaming stations).
This is very, very frustrating...
I have UPS.djsoft said:RadioCaster creates a copy of its settings file, so sometimes it can restore its settings in case when main settings file is missing or corrupted. Better way to fix it is to avoid PC crashes: use UPS to deal with power outages, replace faulty hardware, remove unneeded software.
When we've tested it here, the copy of settings file solved this problem. Can you please give more information on how PC crashes?pety said:In !Settings Folder exists only caster.xml and system.ini.
I checked caster.xml and it contains info about streaming connection.
But this doesn't help. Always when PC craches RadioCaster is empty. It do not keep my encoder.
What I am trying to say is that RC has a bug.
I'm not sure if there's anything RadioCaster can do to avoid this from happening. It simply saves the settings (text file) and also makes a copy of it. If this file becomes missing or corrupted then there's little RadioCaster can do to avoid it... What kind of PC crashes lead to settings loss?nelson c said:It has happened to me a few times too, I agree that there should be a problem.
Luckily I have a backup as Dmitry says everything is arranged and easy.
The whole PC frozen or only RadioCaster?pety said:I found it freezed about three or four times. I do not know the reason of the problem. I checked Event viewer but I couldn't find the source of the issue.

Then you should find the cause why it freezes. It should not happen at all - if the PC freezes, then it's either faulty hardware or some software misbehaves, I'd suggest you to find the cause. Currently the fast solution would be to create RadioCaster's settings backup and restore it when needed.pety said:Whole PC.djsoft said:The whole PC frozen or only RadioCaster?pety said:I found it freezed about three or four times. I will reinstall windows 7 in near future.djsoft said:Then you should find the cause why it freezes. sometimes is to erase settings by restarting the computer. (Start-> restart windows)djsoft said:When we've tested it here, the copy of settings file solved this problem. Can you please give more information on how PC crashes?pety said:In !Settings Folder exists only caster.xml and system.ini.

The only way settings can be erased, is that both RadioCaster's settings files (main and backup) become missing or corrupted. It never happened here on any test machines... How often does it happen when you restart the PC?nelson c said:sometimes is to erase settings by restarting the computer. (Start-> restart windows)
I mean that was not caused by a problem of energy nor hardware. S.O. Windows 8.1
Nelson is right. Sometimes just restarted PC and RC erased setting.djsoft said:The only way settings can be erased, is that both RadioCaster's settings files (main and backup) become missing or corrupted. I think that 50% of restarts. (the PC is restarted with open RadioCaster).djsoft said:The only way settings can be erased, is that both RadioCaster's settings files (main and backup) become missing or corrupted.
