Record Library index is locking up

Hello,

Our record library list has now gone beyond 157,000 tracks and the indexing function locks up towards the end.  It used to operate correctly.

> Tools
> Music Library

It scans the files okay
When it reads the tags it gets to about 98% and locks up

Any suggestions ?

The issue was not reproduced yet.
If I understood correctly:
- you have a huge music library of about 160k tracks
- adding new tracks lock up the library while it reading the tags?

Yes that is correct.

I used to be able to scan a whole drive to update any new tracks that have been added during the week, I have tried scanning individual folders and found that this works but it is very time comsuming when updating a HD every week.

OK. The issue will be addressed in RB 4.8.

Well, the issue still wasn't reproduced. I've noticed that it could stay at about 99% for a while, but if you give it some time, it'll complete the operation.
In RB 4.8 the Music Library will have extended progress bar window. And there were several little optimizations for faster operation. The beta version will be released in the first half of November.

yes I know & I have even left it over night to see if it finally save's but it doesn't, it still stays on 99% &  freezes the process & the program doesn't respond.
