Schedule conflicts

I would like to see a message come up on the screen if one accidentally tries to schedule an event at the same time as an existing event. This can happen often if there is a large number of scheduled events. It would notify that there is a potential conflict and allow for adjustment. Cool eh?

A conflict is not only when the events have same start times (directly, or via repeats) - another event could be scheduled couple of minutes later, leading to the same conflict. I'm not sure about a solution for this. It can be some sort of event analyzer that will show a report of overlapping events.

That is very true.... would something similar to the advert scheduler overview be a solution. Any overlapping events could be highlighted in colour to warn of possible conflicts. When there are 50-100 events in the scheduler window, it is difficult to get a "helicopter" view of what's going on.

Or even neater if the schedule overview screen allowed events to be drag and dropped in there as blocks in the daily/weekly timetable similar to how appointments are scheduled in Outlook. The scheduler screen as now would be kept as a "whats coming up next " summary, but would continue to allow additions and edits. The visual layout is always more effective than trying to remember start and stop times.

Some events are supposed to overlap, e.g. daily playlist can be overridden by news and advert events. You can group events to have a better overview of what events you have.

Events in RadioBOSS do not have stop time. They only start and either play until the end or are interrupted by other events. I'll see if RadioBOSS can build a report of some kind that will show an overall structure of what runs when.

Yes of course I know they don't have stop times.... A report as you have suggested would be great thanks as grouping the current schedule helps but is not quite the same thing! That's all I meant really - to get an overall picture of scheduled events. This could show legitimate overlapping events but also simplify viewing those events that shouldn't be there. All good.

I've added it to the to-do list, it will be added in one of the upcoming updates.
