Setting up SHOUTcast 2 broadcasting with RadioBOSS.

Required: RadioBOSS 4.6.1 or newer.

Add new broadcasting encoder (how to add encoder: http://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/broadcasting_internet_radio.htm)

In the "Server" enter server address, port and stream identifier: address:port,streamid
For example, 127.0.0.1:8000,1

In the password field, enter your password. If you have a username, it is also entered in the password field: username:password Eg. mike:5rf1u84h

You need to add a new encoder for each stream you have.

That's all what is needed to use Shoutcast2 server!

Can you guys post a new guide on how to set up radioboss with shoutcast 2? This does not help much, specially those who know nothing about codes. You guys have a great guide on how to set up RB with the old shoutcast, but the new one doesn't have the same files and when you oopen them they look different and i dont know how to set it up or what to change. Also read on shoutcast website soemthing abour egistering station to be listed??

If you need info on how to configure the new Shoutcast server, I think, you should ask about this on Shoutcast forums.

Here's the minimum config file, if you just need the server to be running and accepting source and listener connections, it has only one stream with ID = 1.
Code:
logfile=logs\sc_serv.log
w3clog=logs\sc_w3c.log
banfile=control\sc_serv.ban
ripfile=control\sc_serv.rip

publicserver=never

password=testing

adminpassword=changeme

streamid=1
streampath=test.aac

If you have any questions on how to setup RadioBOSS to use it with Shoutcast2, feel free to ask here.

I'm thinking to add some kind of "encoder setup wizard" which will help to setup broadcasting in a few easy steps.

I got it working. Do you recommend using shoutcast 2.0 or previous version with radioboss? I really see no benefit besides being able to stream from one port.

Another new feature of the Shoutcast v2 is Unicode titles - this makes all international characters to be displayed correctly.
If you do not need this you can use the previous version.
