Using ReplayGain

Hello All RB users,

I am interested in using the ReplayGain feature in RadioBOSS (version 6.1.1), because of different track levels in my music library. From what I understand my MP3 music library needs to be processed with a program like MP3Gain or within RB. It will analyze the MP3 files and adjusts the music library to an 89% average volume using the MP3 file tags. When playing back, should I use the "Use Track Replay Gain" or "Use Album Replay Gain" setting in RB? Also, I notice two adjustments for the preamps. One says, "Preamp for tracks with ReplayGain" and "Preamp with tracks w/o ReplayGain". What is the difference? If I choose "Preamp with tracks w/o ReplayGain", does that mean I DON'T NEED to the process the MP3 files with MP3Gain and does RadioBOSS automically sets the average playback level?

Any info. is much aprreciated.

It depends on your preference. When you normalize tracks, you choose to process an entire album or each track individually.

In most normalizing programs the target level is about -9dB, when you enable ReplayGain, normalized tracks will play at a lower level because of this. Those settings exist to compensate for this difference.

Instead of ReplayGain you should consider using the Normalize feature in RadioBOSS: https://manual.djsoft.net/radioboss/en/normalizing-tracks.htm
