we do have scheduled progrmas that come on at different times
eg 6am-11am then 11am-1pm then 1pm-4pm etc
is there a way to use voice tracking and our currently schedule to make it seem like there is someone there in the studio. this would require us to run those sceduled block programs hours and days ahread of time. and then someone needs to sit there an insert the voice tracking. does your soft ware allow this. if so how. i would liek to use the voice tracking to do this. i think this would give our station a live feel.
Also, Dimtry how did you intend voice tracking to be used?

There are 2 thinks needed to do it:
- get the actual weather info (a number in degrees) for your city, I believe Yahoo or some other company could privide API for that purposes;
- have pre-recorded files for every possible temperatures - the software will insert appropriate number in the playlist.
It's just a concept, and I didn't make a deep look into it... But theoretically it's possoble.

You are right. Even if the studio is unattended, it is still good to have a human voice. One of the main goals of radio is to provide human company and a sense of community. If announcers are not available, voice tracking is I think, the next best option. I like the idea of one-time only, voice tracks, for a specific place in the playlist only.
Yes, you would need to generate the playlist in advance, using Playlist Generator Pro, and then save it with a name like: 20120220-11.m3u8. Your announcer would then come in and look at the playlist, choose where in the playlist to talk, and then record and insert the voice breaks using Dmitry's voice track record function. The voice tracks are now permanently inserted into the playlist.
You can of course schedule this playlist to play at the correct time...and you have a music programme with announcer. Of course, as you will know, you cannot talk about topical issues, sports results or weather - as you are recording in advance!
I spent 8 years of my life voice tracking air shifts. Thus my interest in this topic.
Have a great day.![]()
