PIGen Error: 1

Hello, when I want to automatically generate a playlist I get an error message: PIGen Error: 1
Do you have any ideas?
Thank you for your answers.

I am having a similar issue that throws the same error number PIGen Error 1

Im my case I can generate the playlist without issue, but when I try to create an event to generate it I get the error. What makes this even more strange is if I change the songs it can generate the playlist as an event.

For example I create a Playlist of songs and call it "A". Test the list ... it works fine. I create an event and it fails
BUT
If I change the songs that are in list "A" the event generates without issue.

I'm at a loss to where to start to even try to track that one down.

Additional Note: Once I had this working, I tried again to change the playlist back to the original songs I had selected. Again it failed.

It can't be a problem with finding the tracks as it can find them ok if I generate it manually.
It can't be a problem with finding the playlist when it can find the playlist with different songs in the selection.

We have been discussing this issue for some weeks now in these forums but the RB team says they are unable to reproduce the problem on their end so they don't have an answer yet but are looking into it. Hope they figure it out soon.

If they want to log into my system, I can reproduce the issue at will and show them exactly what is happening.

In the meantime, to downgrade to the older version again, is it simply a matter of running the exe file for 7.0.8 again, or is that likely to break changes made since the "upgrade" to the current version?

Yes. In my case I had the install file for version 7.0.5 saved somewhere so I reinstalled that. I did however back up my settings and data base from the new version and restored it in 7.0.5. For now the PlGen issue is solved and it's working fine. Though it sucks because I would prefer to be using the latest version.

I expressed myself. I have the same problem as you!

Hello, when I want to automatically generate a playlist I get an error message: PIGen Error: 1
The main change (compared to previous RadioBOSS versions) is that events that run Playlist Generator now check for errors. Previously there were no such checks - and any errors were silently ignored. The resulting playlist may have been incomplete, as a result.

When this error happens again, please send us the playlistgenerator.log (menu Settings, Open Settings Folder, Log folder).

It can't be a problem with finding the tracks as it can find them ok if I generate it manually.
It can't be a problem with finding the playlist when it can find the playlist with different songs in the selection.
This could be different, due to "Check last played tag"/"Consider tracks in the playlist window" and other factors (different played track history, different tracks in the playlist window), sometimes creating a playlist may be a success and in other times it may be not.

Please send playlistgenerator.log after the scheduled playlist creation failed, we'll check it.

Yes, in case of PlGen error 1 it's not an error, it's a new error checking feature that was not present before. Please also send playlistgenerator.log file so we'll have more information to work with.

Versions are fully compatible so downgrading is possible with no issues.
