RadioBOSS 7.2 [beta]

How are you enabling this played state icon? The custom icon I have set remains. I would however prefer an option to customise the played state icon per file type. It will just be too confusing for our presenters otherwise if the icons change to a completely different icon, instead of just a greyed out version. Especially if both columns get condensed into one, it will be harder to tell what the track was as the icon is different.
The option to control the icons for played/current/next track states are going to be added soon. We'll see from there how it can be improved. In the current version, it's not possible yet.

Do you find left/right positions both not suitable for you?
I don’t think so. We asked a few of our most proficient presenters and they were very confused by it. Spotify etc. does it the way you used to, so most people are used to that format.

Currently you can configure the background color of the box, this should be enough to see, also the "Next Track" label at the top should help :)
About the Last Track, it may be only "cosmetic" improvement as I don't see any practical use for it, the track had already played

If it’s not possible to add these extra customisations, is it possible to disable it from appearing? It will definitely confuse our presenters unfortunately due to the same colour, especially it it’s un-even with only the right ride.

Do you mean avoid the window where it asks what options to set? If so then there has to be a way to show it again.
Yes correct. Maybe a second button which shows the options? And then the main button just runs the action based on the options.

You can enable the "Events - legacy behavior for "do not start event..." option (set to True) in this case it will load the event but do not play.

Waveform loading happens in the background and can't freeze the UI. Can you please click the "Send bug report" button when it freezes for the next time?

It is possible, you can drag them by the icon. Alternatively, you can copy-paste them.
Thanks a lot.
For the waveform... It was the PC I'm using to test that had a lot running in the background.

I support the request/suggestion to implement an option in RadioBOSS 7.2.x that allows the Library search engine to ignore diacritical marks (accent marks) and other special characters.

Currently, if a search query differs by a single symbol (for example, an accented character), the search returns no results. This behavior is too strict and can significantly affect usability, especially in languages that use diacritics.

It would be highly beneficial to implement accent-insensitive (diacritic-insensitive) and symbol-insensitive search functionality, similar to how Windows File Explorer handles searches, where special characters are ignored and matches are returned regardless of accents.

This enhancement would greatly improve search flexibility, efficiency, and overall workflow within the media library.

I noticed strange behavior when I change the default option "Spectrum (bars)" to "None" or "Track Waveform" in the View -> "On Air" Visualizations options. After changing the tabs "On Air" & "Coming up next" to "Track Waveform" or "None", both tabs change as requested, but the problem is that when you want to return to another option after that, only the "On Air" tab returns and "Coming up next" remains in the status it was in before and the change only occurs after restarting the application.

BTW...I'm not sure if the Coming up next tab is even planned to be changed? I think such possible changes should only take place on the central (On Air) tab.

The problem with position below is that it pushes the whole UI down, introducing a lot of unusable free space. That's why the timers were moved from there.

If you want to create similar rules, they can be copied in the list.
Good morning, I preferred the way it was before. I repeat, if it's possible to have three choices: right, left, or the way it was before.

Thanks

In Ads Scheduler, what's the purpose of adding the user in: "Create playlists and events"?
Which users are you referring to?... If it's the Radioboss user, the ads should normally run regardless of who's operating the radio, right?

Maybe they just used to the old position. But having them below is a problem due to introduced empty space and problem is more prominent if larger fonts are used. In the previous version the On Air and other bars were smaller because of this.

I'll see what can be done about it, maybe the Next Track bar will have same/similar configuration options as the On Air bar has. I'm not sure how it can be confused though, in most of radio automation software the current and next track bars have exactly the same colors; and even interchanged back and forth as playback goes, if software is designed in the A/B deck style.

Two buttons for the same function seem excessive, especially in Track Tool case where the number of controls is already massive :) We'll think of some solution.

It does ignore accented characters, that is, á = à = a, etc.

Thank you, looks like a bug.

Waveform and None modes are supposed to be in sync. Spectrum mode is for currently playing track only.

We'd like to avoid having those timers below the bars as it makes the window look odd (because of all the free space created by it). Do you find that both positions (left and right) are not good?

It's the username to access the API, starting with RadioBOSS 7.1, it allows creating API users with limited rights (compared to a "master password" with all API access as it was before).

On the other hand, we were expecting this feature in version 7.2: Send Ads to multiple remote computers

Yes, this is still in the queue.

I have to admit that the current playback time display feels a bit cluttered and not very easy to follow.

1. What do you think about placing the playback time inside the play window, in the bottom left and bottom right corners?

2. alternatively, On Air could be moved to the center, with the playback time placed above the player window, aligned to the left and right corners?

Or even Last Track, On Air, and Coming Up Next could all be aligned to the center

When they were below, did that change things much? I've been using the 7.2 version for a while now, and when I try older version, timers at the bottom seem odd :) It's a matter of habit probably.

1. What do you think about placing the playback time inside the play window, in the bottom left and bottom right corners?
This was one of the ideas, yes, but problem is that they are poorly readable with the transparent background, and with a solid background they seem like stickers. Maybe we'll give it another try with in semi-transparent overlay style. This way, the top part will only have solid blocks, and that should actually look good.

2. alternatively, On Air could be moved to the center, with the playback time placed above the player window, aligned to the left and right corners?
This potentially can face the same problem as when the timers are below - with larger font, push the entire UI down, adding lots of free space. There's also intro progress bar at the top, which in this case has to be moved somewhere else.

I see what you mean with the white space…

We do like the idea of the timers being inside the play bar. Time played on the left, and time left on the right. But then I’m sure there’d be issues with it hiding the intro markers etc. if the font is larger. Otherwise maybe just the time left instead of both?

It would be interesting to see if the vertically stacked option would work like “tomimatko” suggested. But that would be a major change…

Thank you for all your work on this!

Events in Manual mode... Amazing 👍 the queue is on point... Thanks.
Second additional work zone can't open from the menu, only on the toolbar button.
And just a suggestion can't one work zone just have different panels like in Radioboss main...instead of just having a bunch of tabs or additional work zones
