RadioLogger

We're experiencing an issue where audio is being recorded at a much higher level, and at a different bit rate than what we set in the settings.

We recently upgraded to the latest version and believe this is when this started happening.

We run 3 instances of the RadioLogger software to record different audio. 2 are set to 128kpbs and the other one is set to 320kbps.

It seems to record at 320kbps for an hour after software restart, then it goes back to 128kbps with a much higher input level (nearly clipping) instead of the usual -15db level.

Worth also noting we're recording on a mapped network drive, but this shouldn't cause an issue.

Is there further information I can provide to assist with this?

Sure.

Interestingly, you'll see below that the 19-00-00 hour that is currently being recorded has a higher file size (127,636kb) than the previous hour (56,249kb). I would assume the file is being recorded at 320kbps but maybe compressed to 128kbps once the hour is complete?

And here is a screenshot from the audio file. As you can see, the level is over zero db, whereas the input level showing on the RadioLogger is at -12db. Something is very wrong...

Cheers!

Thank you for the information, we'll check it.
Regarding the recording size, it may differ based on the audio material (how good it compresses).

As for the sound level, at this point it's unknown why it may differ - RadioLogger does not apply any DSP to change the sound level. What is the actual sound level, is it -12dB or closer to 0dB? Could be level meter that is wrong for some reason.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I set the OPUS format to 48kbps at 44,100, and it records it at 48,000.
I thought it was just a problem with my PC...
Thanks
Is it the same issue (incorrect recorded file bitrate/incorrect level) or it's only OPUS recording at 48000? If the latter, then it's actually correct as the OPUS is designed to work with 48000 sample rate (it doesn't really support 44100 and internally it will convert it to 48000). If you use OPUS, you should always use 48000 Hz sample rate.

Oh, okay, that's correct, I didn't know that.

Thanks for the explanation, so everything's fine for me now.:)

It's around -12dB going into the PC, so I'd assume the recordings would be similar, not 0dB
