đź“… Broadcast Scheduler for RadioBOSS (Free & Open Source)

Radio-Albena

New member
Hello everyone,

During the last few weeks I have been working on a new free desktop application for RadioBOSS called Broadcast Scheduler.

Tested with RadioBOSS 7.2.2.0 (64-bit)

The idea was simple:

When a RadioBOSS scheduler grows over time, it becomes increasingly difficult to get a clear overview of all scheduled events.

Broadcast Scheduler reads the original RadioBOSS scheduler profile (.sdl) and displays the complete weekly schedule in an easy-to-read calendar and event list.

The application is read-only. It never modifies your RadioBOSS configuration or scheduler.

Current Features

  • Weekly calendar
  • Event list
  • Search and group filter
  • Previous / Today / Next Week navigation
  • Automatic detection of simultaneous scheduled events
  • Original RadioBOSS event colors
  • Event details (double click)
  • Automatic scroll to the current time
  • Fast scheduler analysis

Why I created it

I use RadioBOSS every day for my own station and wanted a better way to review my scheduler before making changes.

The goal is not to replace RadioBOSS.

Instead, Broadcast Scheduler is intended to be an additional tool that helps verify scheduler configurations and provides a much clearer overview of an entire week.

Open Source

The project is completely open source (MIT License).

Thank you!

Broadcast Scheduler v4.2.0 is now available on GitHub.

The new release includes a Public Calendar Website Generator that creates a modern standalone weekly schedule directly from your RadioBOSS scheduler. Feedback and feature suggestions are very welcome.

🎨 Broadcast Scheduler v4.4.0 – Theme System

Version 4.4.0 introduces a complete visual theme system and a simpler first-start experience.

New Themes

  • Radio Albena – the new default theme
  • Midnight Studio – a comfortable dark design
  • Coastal Light – a bright theme with subtle color nuances
  • Color Wave – a more colorful and lively appearance
Themes can be changed under View → Theme. The selected theme is saved automatically and restored the next time the application starts.

First-Start Setup

  • Automatic RadioBOSS scheduler file selection
  • Automatic creation of settings.json
  • The selected .sdl file is remembered
  • If the file is moved or removed, Broadcast Scheduler asks for it again
To find the hidden RadioBOSS scheduler folder, enter this path in the Windows file selection window:

%APPDATA%\djsoft.net<br>
Then open:

RadioBOSS_...\Presets\Schedule<br>

Improvements

  • Themed toolbar, filters, tabs, tables, scrollbars and status bar
  • Weekly calendar colors adapt to the selected theme
  • Conflict highlighting adapts to each theme
  • Original RadioBOSS event colors remain unchanged
  • Public Calendar preview keeps its independent website design
  • Portable single-file Windows executable

Installation

  1. Download and extract BroadcastScheduler.zip.
  2. Start BroadcastScheduler.exe.
  3. Select your RadioBOSS scheduler .sdl file.
  4. Broadcast Scheduler creates the required configuration automatically.
Broadcast Scheduler remains completely read-only and never modifies the RadioBOSS scheduler.

Broadcast Scheduler v4.5.0 is now available.

This update improves the Public Calendar export workflow:

• Website exports are now saved in a visible Documents folder by default
• A custom export folder can be selected
• The selected location is remembered automatically
• The export folder can be opened directly from the application
• The complete path to the generated index.html is displayed after publishing

The portable Windows version and source code have been updated on GitHub:

https://github.com/mixnetwork1959/BroadcastScheduler/releases

As always, Broadcast Scheduler is free and open source.

Broadcast Scheduler v4.5.1 is now available.

This maintenance update improves annual event handling and restores detailed conflict information.

Changes:

• Fixed annual RadioBOSS events being incorrectly treated as daily events.
• Added correct handling for UseDate, EveryYear and UseDaysOfWeek.
• Prevented monthly report events from creating false conflicts.
• Conflict warnings are now shown as “Possible conflict”.
• Double-click an event to see which other events have the same scheduled start time.
• Improved the Public Calendar workflow and instructions.
• Improved the typography of the generated public calendar.

Please note:
The conflict checker analyzes the currently displayed week. Annual events are checked when their configured date occurs within that week.

Toolkit users:
If you already have the RadioBOSS Toolkit installed, you do not need to reinstall the complete toolkit. Simply replace the existing BroadcastScheduler.exe with the new version included in this release.
