Cart schedule and auxiliary info

I would like a feature that placed date/time restrictions on cart playback (they might show up in red and refuse to play if outside the designated time). Maybe similar to the ad scheduler?

Also would be good to have an option to load a small text window when certain carts were played (such as to allow a presenter to follow the cart playback with a short customised live announcement). It would include the ability to close the window when it had been read out.

I think it can use the Dayparting feature, but I'm not sure if it's really applicable for carts. What is the use case for this?

If the text is not very large, you can include it in the cart name so it's visible directly on the button.

The day parting in track tool seems to meet this requirement but I couldn’t make it prevent a cart from still playing. We want the cart to show when it’s outside the scheduled time (such as changes to red). It’s meant for promos with a limited season of playback.
The text box needs to accommodate a whole sentence (e.g. “and you can get those tickets now at XYZ”) so placement in a box similar to the “T” note facility (with a close button when read) is required.

Yes currently Cart Wall doesn't check dayparting, as we have decided that carts should work at all times, if they are assigned. Dayparting is a feature currently used for automatic selection of tracks/ads, not when manual playback is involved.
I'm not sure if we should make cart wall consider the dayparting settings. You can load different cart wall sets for different parts of the day. Or, better, use different tabs and switch to an appropriate one when needed.

Can you please specify the use case for it?

The use case is as has been adopted by some other well known cart playback tools and provides a tag that the presenter can do a voice announcement after it has been played. For example, cart is a promotion for a concert; small window opens with additional copy that the presenter uses to read out, such as where to get tickets. Or in the case of a general promotion, it pops up to allow the presenter to add reinforcing information related to the cart, such as “and don’t forget to call this number for more details”. This means that paper-based or spreadsheet solutions can be ditched.

It’s not really related to day parting. It’s related to its start/end date. There’s no point playing a certain cart if an event or a program has passed, so why can’t the same date period that is used in the ad scheduler or track tool be applied here? If I set the start/end dates in track tool, then they should also apply when that file is added to the cart.
