database Management and Bulk editing

Hi

I am still playing with RadioBoss and trying to figure out the best ay to manage my music library - and I need some help!

If, for example, I want to put together a playlist of track between 1960 and 1965 all of which had been in the top 20 I need to have some method to store that info in the database for the playlist generator to work with.

the year is easy enough and I though of using the "ratings" to determine the "chart position" eg

Rating of 10 for a No 1
Rating of 9 for a top 10
Rating of 8 for a top 20
Rating of 7 for a top 40 etc

What I am finding difficult is the bulk editing of tracks to set the "rating" (or any other field). There does not seem to be a way to bulk edit track tags or database fields.

anyone got any tips on managing the database more easily?

Regards

Dave

You can use Music Library to bulk edit tracks: select several tracks in the list and click Track Properties. It will allow you to edit standard fields (Title, Artist etc) and some additional fields: Gender, Rating and Language.

The problem is that Playlist Generator Pro doesn't take into account any of those fields - this will be implemented in July.

That is odd, I tried that before and it blanked the main fields that I did not edit ??

No problem about the not being implemented just yet - not planning to launch a station until next January !

Just ried it on some FLAC files - I selected all my Kate Bush tracks, right clicked, and set the Gender to Female - messed the Database up !

I added it to the bug list, this will be checked. If the problem exists, it will be fixed in the RadioBOSS 4.7.2 update.

Just done some more tests, It works fine on ALE/ALAC files BUT NOT flac Files

Can you let me know if it is a bug please?

Can I also make a feautre request?

Can we have and option in the "Gender Field" for

Male
Female
Group
Female Group
Male Group
Mixed Group

instead of the current, Male/Female/Group?

Regards

Dave

I don't know yet if it's a bug or not. This will be checked soon.

The request about new options for the Gender field has been added to the list.
