How can I schedule a regular event every hour with preset minutes and seconds

Hello,

I have a special schedule set for a one month test transmission for our new radio station.  For simplicity we have decided to generate random playlists each hour but with a major station announcement on the hour every hour.  This station announcement last for 25 seconds.

Essentially this is what we have done:

1. Station Announcement: On the Scheduler screen we have set the Time & Day settings set at Hours, All, Minute = 0.  This means the one schedule entry does the whole day and every day of the week continuously.  On this entry we play the major station announcement lasting 25 seconds.

2. Playlist Generation: On another Schedule entry we have set Time & day settings set at Hours, All, Minute = 1.  We would rather set this to 15 seconds and not a full minute.  On this entry we call the Playlist Generator and generate 70 minutes worth of music and IDs.  We generate the 70 minutes so it's just a bit longer than an hour and so we have plenty of music for that hour.

3. Station Announcement: When the next major station announcement comes up it deletes and clears out the past playlist, plays the station announcement ... and so on.

This whole process would work perfectly IF our major station announcement was a full minute or more, but it's only 25 seconds.

And we have to generate the 70 minute playlist AFTER the station announcement has started because we use the station announcement schedule entry to clear excess music from the previous playlist.

This sounds confusing ... sorry ... but is there a better way of doing this ?

Being able to enter minutes and seconds in the scheduler would be another solution.

Any ideas ?

Thanks, Jamie C.

The feature to use "seconds" in the "Hours" section will be added in the next update: RadioBOSS 4.5.2. It should be done very soon - I think no more than 5 days.

The 4.5.2 version has just been released and it now has a feature to set seconds in the "Hours" section of event. Hope this helps.

Has the play above air been fixed in the latest version?

Dmitry,

Thanks ... that is fantastic ... it works perfectly !  That adds a lot of flexibility to the Scheduler now.

Something that I am noticing as I use RadioBOSS more and more is the importance to us of the Scheduling function and Scheduling window.  For an automated station the Schedule function is everything - probably more so than the Playlist - because it gives you a long term perspective of what programs are coming up in the next few days, next week and next month.

With this in mind I think the Schedule box is way too small.  In most situations a full screen view would be preferable.

Have you considered this ?

Thanks, Jamie C.

You can resize the scheduler window. There's a dark gray line between playlist and scheduler window - move it to the right to make window wider. Also there's similar line above report.

The "play above the air" wasn't broken - it was another bug, and it seems fixed now.
Please let me know if you have any problems.

Dmitry,

Yep I know that ... but dragging and resizing is an awkward way of getting the full detail quickly and getting the screen back into shape in a sensible manner.  I'm looking at the screen now and maybe a better option is a couple of icons - perhaps to the right of the plugins and crossfades .... perhaps 'Default' and 'Scheduler' ... too many words but you know what I mean.

Thanks, Jamie C.

I agree about this. There were many requests about small scheduler list before...
I thought about ut and this is how it's going to be changed very soon:
- leave an event list in the main player window only to view tasks and edit by double-clicking.
- remove all buttons (except "Run Now" maybe), and instead add the "Edit list..." button to open full-sized scheduler editor window with some additional features.

I'm not sure when it will be done... Should be within 20-30 days. If you have any ideas about it it's a good time to write them here :)

Thanks.

Sounds good. I will try it later today and let you know if i have any issues. Will you guys finally add the option to have different information for all outputs? I think you said this was to be added in the next update, but it was not.
