Hello,
I have a special schedule set for a one month test transmission for our new radio station. For simplicity we have decided to generate random playlists each hour but with a major station announcement on the hour every hour. This station announcement last for 25 seconds.
Essentially this is what we have done:
1. Station Announcement: On the Scheduler screen we have set the Time & Day settings set at Hours, All, Minute = 0. This means the one schedule entry does the whole day and every day of the week continuously. On this entry we play the major station announcement lasting 25 seconds.
2. Playlist Generation: On another Schedule entry we have set Time & day settings set at Hours, All, Minute = 1. We would rather set this to 15 seconds and not a full minute. On this entry we call the Playlist Generator and generate 70 minutes worth of music and IDs. We generate the 70 minutes so it's just a bit longer than an hour and so we have plenty of music for that hour.
3. Station Announcement: When the next major station announcement comes up it deletes and clears out the past playlist, plays the station announcement ... and so on.
This whole process would work perfectly IF our major station announcement was a full minute or more, but it's only 25 seconds.
And we have to generate the 70 minute playlist AFTER the station announcement has started because we use the station announcement schedule entry to clear excess music from the previous playlist.
This sounds confusing ... sorry ... but is there a better way of doing this ?
Being able to enter minutes and seconds in the scheduler would be another solution.
Any ideas ?
Thanks, Jamie C.
