Hi Guys,

I also have had problems with RadioBOSS 4.5 on Windows 7 32bit, on a clean notebook -Intel Atom chip- 2Gigs DDR2 ....crashing.
Do not have the details at hand, but will send it on when I can.

Possible solution: enter Settings->Playback->Miscellaneous and check both "Disable hardware mixing" and "Disable 32-bit floating point processing". If program stops crashing, this will mean there's a problem with sound card or its driver.

To anyone who experience this error, please provide more info:
1) What other progrmas are running
2) What output is used: ASIO, WASAPI and what device is set in the "Main output".
3) Do you use Winamp plugins

The strangest thing is we didn't have any crashes on any test machines here. Including the ones with Windows  7 32 and 64 bits...

Thanks.

Dmitry,

We suspect that RadioLogger may have something to do with this.  We have disabled RadioLogger for today to see if stability returns.

However, to answer the questions you posted above:

1. Shoutcast Server 1.9.8
2. Output > Playback Devices: Speakers (High Definition Audio Device), we are not running any of the other outputs
3. No Winamp plugins used

We are running Windows 7 SP1 64 bit

Thanks, Jamie C.

RadioLogger can not interfere with RadioBOSS. As you're using the "High Definition Audio Device" as sound card - you should try the "Possible solution" I described above, it'll very likely solve the problem.

I have never had any problems with any of my sound cards with windows 7, i have had the anti virus turned off, My output is main output, I have no winamp plugins, I have also disabled the 2 things you said earlier, The only program i have running is radioboss atm and it is still crashing every so often.

You said that you have antivirus turned off. What antivirus is it? (I'll make a test environment with this AV software to check if it causes any problems).
Even when off, antivirus still has its driver running. You may try removing it completely.

What OS are you using? As I noted from reports, radiodungog and southsound use Windows 7 SP1. So this may be the service Pack 1 issue...

I have Avast Antivirus
Try uninstalling it. Most likely it'll resolve the problem. I did a quick search on google, and there seems to be similar problems with other programs... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itprovistaapps/thread/43f793ad-2ad0-4a58-a682-d172a10f8938/

I have uninstalled it and try it for the next 24 hours (or if radioboss crashes again) and i will let you know. Then we will know if its the antivirus or something else.

The OS you're using, is it a clean install or it came with PC purchase? If the latter, you can try reinstalling it.
Another option is to turn off DEP but my tests show that RadioBOSS works properly with DEP turned on on all test machines here...

Hi, It was a clean install. I have also tried it on a windows xp computer and it still crashes but not as often. I have reinstalled radioboss on the windows 7, Removed the antivirus, Disabled all those settings you told me to and it is still crashing just as often. I really don't know what to do now.

You tried using Windows XP from another computer or the same one? If it's the same, I suppose there may be some kind of hardware problem.

Another set of questions to help narrow it down:
1) were previous versions of RadioBOSS working correctly?
2) do you use microphone/line.in?
3) do you use: HTTP request/FTP upload?
4) do you play network streams from playlist?
5) what sound card is used?

Thanks!

1) Yes all verisons before 4.5 worked well
2) Microphone
3) HTTP
4) No
5) Behringer 2000 i think, But i know it is a Behringer Sound Card.

I have 2 questions aswell

1) You said before that radioboss 4.5 works well with no problems on the windows 7 test computer/s, But do you have SP1 installed?

2) Do you know what any of the error codes previously stated on this fourm are related to? i.e is it something new or updated on radioboss 4.5 that may have a fault with part of the windows operating system or is it something that crashed in radioboss which was the same in 4.4?

Thanks :)
