RadioBOSS Song Ratings is a neutral, self-hosted rating system that lets listeners rate the song currently playing.
It is player-independent. You do not have to remove or replace your existing web player.
Three integration options
• WordPress plugin with setup wizard and shortcodes
• Standalone Edition for PHP websites without WordPress
Main features
• Dislike, It's okay and Love it ratings
• One changeable rating per browser visitor and song
• Current artist, title and cover from a Now Playing API
• Compatible with AzuraCast and simple JSON metadata APIs
• Support for up to four stations
• Optional neutral player with configurable colors, logo, size and layout
• Protected ratings dashboard
• Setup wizard for both editions
• Compatible with Radio Music Analytics
• No listener account, name or email address required
Database
MySQL or MariaDB is required, but a separate database is not necessary.
The Standalone setup wizard can use an existing database, detect a compatible Song Ratings table and reuse it. If no suitable table exists, the required table is created automatically.
The WordPress plugin automatically creates its table inside the existing WordPress database.
Recommended installation
The easiest solution is to keep your current radio player and place the Song Ratings widget directly below it. The widget independently reads the current song from the configured Now Playing API.
Alternatively, the player can stay open in one browser tab while the separate rating page is opened in another tab.
