scheduler crashing RB?

I have a daily schedule that sets volumes and loads folders of music throughout the day. everything works fine. Last weekend i put a new entry into the schedule. it was to start at 10:10am and every 20 minutes insert a (random selected) song from another folder into the current playlist. today RB stopped working and i had to close it down and restart it. The log shows the last song started at 10:08am. I have to assume the new entry crashed the program. any idea why?

I am running 4.6..919. I updated to the most current but when I looked at the help about it showed the old version. If i looked at the RB.exe it showed the new version. I reloaded the old version until i have time to investigate.

thanks

Make sure RB is closed while installing a new version - otherwise it will be unable to update the files. You can also install it to a different folder, just for testing.

Regarding scheduler entry - can you post a printscreen of an Event window, and how much files are in the folder? When program crashes, are there any error messages?

The only error was a popup that said RB has stopped. The log had no entries past the song that started at 10:08am. The main folder that is scheduled to shuffle when loading at 9:50am has about 300 songs in it as a minimum. The folder that has the songs that are scheduled to start at 10:10 and play one song from the folder (random song) every 20 minutes has about 150 songs in it.

I have my normal shuffle that runs every morning for 3 hours and every 20 minutes I add in a random christmas song from another folder. In the afternoon I have another folder loaded and I add in Christmas music in every 20 minutes, from a different folder (both faster tempo). The morning one is the one that crashed. Today it is working so far. RB is so incredibly stable that I was surprised to have it stop on an error.

Was anything changed in the system? Do you have antivirus software installed?
You can also wait for RB 4.8 release (or even try beta: http://www.djsoft.net/smf/index.php/topic,3165.0.html), it has many stability-related fixes compared to 4.6.

Please post a screenshot of an event which crashes - we'll check it.

i send in a screen shot if it happens again. the system hasnt changed and the machine is not on the net so i doesnt run any virus software.

thanks
