Turn API on and off with command

Here is the problem:
I need to play the line in occasionally and DTMF is not reliable enough. So, I started to use API instead of DTMF. It works perfectly, but now I need to turn off API in some special occasions. Is it possible?

If not, how to configure DTMF to work every time? Can you send me some sample audio file with tones?

Why do you need to disable the API? You can simply not use it when it's not needed.

It works with standard DTMF tones, and it works better with tones in counterphase. The tones should be loud enough and if possible without background music (at least music should not be too loud).
