Fades and multiple actions

The following sequence does not appear to work in multiple action events:

next 5000
C:\audio\sample.mp3

When I schedule this event, I want to fade the current track for 5 seconds then play the sample. The first command is ignored and the sample.mp3 plays instantly. Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug (v6.2.3.2)?

It will fade out the currently playing song for 5 seconds, but next song will be mixed in earlier (according to the Mix point settings).
