*This instructions are for older versions of RadioBOSS. We do not recomment using EdCast with newer versions of RadioBOSS*

How to use the EdCast (former Oddcast) plugin with RadioBOSS.
Here is step-by-step instruction.

I. RadioBOSS configuration
In the menu, click "Settings", select "Preferences...", in the window appeared select "FX" and on the right check "Allow use of Winamp plugins". Click OK.

II. Oddcast plugin installation
1. Download http://dl.djsoft.net/EdCast_for_RadioBOSS.zip file (it's a special build of EdCast plugin which can be used with RadioBOSS)
2. Unzip downloaded file to the RadioBOSS directory (usually C:\Program Files\RadioBOSS), answer "Yes" if it asks to overwrite files/folders.

After plugin installation, restart RadioBOSS.
Oddcast will appear in the Plugins tab. Select it and click "Start" button.

How it should look like:

About OddCast, there is not a bug in our software, as we noticed, it's compatibility issue: OddCast uses Bass.dll version 2.3, we use version 2.4 - so that's why plugin can not start. We already notified author of Oddcast to fix this.
Tags and other minor bugs will be fixed in the next few days.

Maybe a good idea to post a announcement when it is fixed!

And maybe rename the topic? since the name is changed into Edcast

PMR
Yes, it'll be announced. If everything goes right, we should finish fixing this bug today. Working...

UPD: The problem is solved now, please see the first post.

Hey djsoft

when i tried using edcast on my radioboss demo today

it did not display the stream titles over on my winamp at all

so could you fix that please

You can use RadioBOSS's internal "broadcast" feature (in the menu click Settings->Preferences...).

For Edcast, set it to use "nowplaying.txt" file.

Hey Djsoft

there is no nowplaying.txt file in my radioboss demo folder anywhere i checked

so where can i find the nowplaying.txt file then

and how can i set edcast to use the nowplaying.txt file

In the RadioBOSS, click Settings->Preferences, enter Log files/Reports section. Check the "Save title of the track being played to file" and choose folder and file name where you need to save that file.
Then, in Edcast select that file to use as metadata source. I don't remember how exactly it's done, but it shouldn't be hard to find.

Hey Djsoft

its not working at all

i tried doing that

and its still not showing the stream title through my winamp player

is there anyway to make oddcast work on the radioboss program

Is "nowplaying.txt" file created correctly? If yes, that's Edcast problem, if it can't do what it supposed to do (read the file and send metadata).
Also, it's much easier to use RadioBOSS's Broadcast feature.
