Maximizing variety ín large categories

Hi,

I'm using RadioBOSS 7.2.2.0 and Playlist Generator.

I generate a new 7-hour daytime playlist every day using Random selection.

One of my rotation categories contains 417 tracks, but it often feels like the generator selects many of the same tracks on consecutive days while other tracks are rarely used.

Would generating a 12-hour playlist (while broadcasting only the first 7 hours) improve track variety, or would the beginning of the playlist remain mostly the same?

Also, is there a recommended way to maximize long-term variety when using a large category with 400+ tracks?

Track selection is random, it doesn't select one tracks more often than the other. If you need 7 hours, you should create a 7-hour playlist, there's no point in creating 12 hours (it will just be wasted processing power).
