two parts show: the second file doesn' t start

Hi,

Thisi is Dario from RLWebradio, non commercial internet station based in Italy.
RadioBOSS is great: easy, flexible etc etc etc but we are experimenting the issue described below.
We broadcast  a 2 parts shows provided from a recording studio. They provide us 2 URLs and we schedule two events, filling the field "Track filename or command" with each URL. The first one starting at the specified time, the second queued at the previous (the 2 files have not the same lenght so we cannot set the start time for the second one).
The first task start correctly but the second seems to be starting (appears in the bottom right window) but the next track start.
Be aware that we have the silence detector.
Please help us. We need to broadcast this show automatically from the URLs without downloading the .mp3 files.

Thanks a lot.

Hello,

As I understood, you want to play two streams, one after another. If program doesn't detect the end of stream (that's a problem we're working on now), you can use silence detector to go to the next stream in the playlist (set the silence detector action to "go to the next track").
The next update (in 5-10 days) will resolve the issue I think.

Also, you can specify the maximum stream length in the scheduler, enter the filename like this:
"http://www.stream.com/play.m3u 60" - 60 is length of stream, in minutes. But it won't help much if you don't know the stream length.

Thank you.

Hi,

thank you for answering.
I just tested your first option in our pre-production enviroment (silence detector on "go to the next...etc") and it works correctly. I tried both with an empty playlist and with our "On air" playlist.
We'll check on friday on the ON AIR machine and then get back to you.

Hi,

a quick update. The problem appears randomly.
On Friday... OK, on Saturday... the second streaming did not start and we forced it manually, Today... OK.

Please note: no shout down, no reboot, no changes in the scheduler.

Ah... I forgot it in the past message: the RadioBOSS release is 4.1.0.483.

Best.

Dario

You start the second streaming by silence detector, right?
What exactly happened, when streaming does not start? (i.e. it played the first stream, or doesn't play anything).

The first streaming starts normaly as scheduled. The second one appears in the bottom right window (eg... 03:33:30 Schedule: "title of the stream") but dosn't start and the following track (tipically a song) starts instead.
So... the second streaming remains listed as shown above.

Thanks.

Dario

As it shows that stream was started by scheduler, was that stream added to the playlist? Better if you post a screenshot here to see what's happening.
This could happen, if silence detector was triggered before the second show added to the playlist.

I'll take the screenshot and post here as requested.
Anyway... yes in both case the second streaming is added to the playlist.

Thanks

Thank you for information! There'll be an update soon, this problem will be solved.
You said that second stream is added to the playlist.
How does playlist look like?
e.g.
Stream1
Some track [playing]
Stream2

That's strange... Could you post a report (the part when all this happened) here? (reports are located in the "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\djsoft.net\RadioBOSS_XXXXX\Reports").
