Where is the "priority" status of a track?

Hello,

In the priority tab of the Playlist Generator, it is possible to change the selection of tracks according to the rating.

I don't understand the relationship between priority and rating.

  • The rating of a musical track can be configured in the TAG editor of the music library. It is between 1 and 10 (also, you can select nothing)
  • The priority of a music track changes in the Playlist Generator. Priority values range from 0 to 100 with a base priority of 50 for each song added.

How do you find the priority value of a music track that has been modified in the "Additional priority rules" of the Playlist Generator?

You can increase or decrease the priority of a track, ok. But how do we check?
How do you see that a musical track has gone from a priority of 50 to 70, for example? And how to change the priority manually without using the Playlist Generator?

Is there anything to do with rating?
Best regards

Thank you Dmitry for your response on priority values.

If I understand correctly, the additional priority rules make it possible to give a "trend" for the playlist generator. It's about probability, luck (chance).

These rules cannot be considered as a setting that can be checked in Track Properties or elsewhere.

But, in the help system it says that "Priority values below zero exclude the track completely."

So, in this case, the additional priority rules act as a setting... And since we cannot check which tracks are impacted, this is problematic.

Except by looking at when the track was played last time.

But then again, the help system says that "for a track that hasn’t been played in a while , you can give it a better chance of being added to the playlist."
However, it cannot be selected alone in the additional priority rules. You have to select the number of readings, the year, the last reading, the date of addition or even the genre. This will therefore involve modifying the priority value for a group of tracks. And that's not what we want. We want to modify a track and not a group of tracks.

And here, It's annoying.

Priority value is calculated by priority rules you define and by nothing else. So the only thing you need to check is what rules you have.

Yes, rules are defined based on other valued. For tracks that hadn't been selected for a long time, the "Last played" value will be somewhere in the past and you can define a rules based on "Last played". There are examples in the help file.

We want to modify a track and not a group of tracks.
It doesn't work on individual tracks, it only works on groups, this way it's fully automated.
