Is there a maximum/safe number of tracks in a folder for teasers that is set for random and auto hook? It seems if the folder is very large by containg over 1000 tracks it gets stuck or glitches. A suggested safe maximum number would be appreciated.

There's no such number because it will depend on computer configuration and what storage is used. With SSD drive and SQLite storage it should work very fast. It also depends if those are new tracks, or they were indexed before with Music Library (or played at least one time in RadioBOSS) - if it's not a new track, its processing is much faster.
But generally I'd avoid keeping 1000s of files for teaser elements.
