Hi all,

I'm using a mackie onyx 1220i firewire desk to run my mic into radioboss.  I can get the signal in but there is no option to mono the mic.  I can only get it coming out of one speaker / headphone.  I am using the asio option for my mixer and it gives me the choice of two channels.  If I set them both to the channel the mic is on I get horrible distortion and weird pitched vocal sound.

I was hoping to line my mic signal into radioboss and sidechain compress the music against the vocals for ducking but a 1 sided vocal isn't a lot of good.

Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

For ASIO just select one channel (left), leave right channel blank - then MIC will become Mono.
(If you already have "right" channel selected, press "Delete" key to remove the selection).

Thank you.  That has worked.  How about sidechain compression (ducking)?

I have attached a pic of my playback settings.  How do I configure the sidechain.  I just want the music to duck whenever I speak into the mic or whenever I play a jingle.  I've set it to 1sec but nothing happens.  also, the voice track attenuation doesn't seem to be doing anything.

On your site there is a tick box to enable voice track in the miscellaneous section, I don't have that option?

Many thank.

To lower music level while MIC pressed, open Microphone/Line.IN settings tab and set Music Level and Fade in/out settings. Please see the picture attached.

Yes, I seen that option.  I want the ducking to respond to my voice, not the button.

When I press the mic button there is a small click / dropout that occurs in the music.  It would be much better if I could set it so the music ducks when I speak i.e sidechain compression.

Is this not possible?

Because I have control of my mics volume via the faders on my mixer, I could set radioboss "music volume during mic on" to be 100% and leave the mic on all the time.

That way when I want to talk I can just bring up the faders on the desk, back announce the track and so on and pull them down when I'm finished but in order for this to be effective there would need to be a dynamic sidechain option which ducked the volume of the music automatically when the presenter speaks.

Also, when I toggle the mic on/off button there is a clicking noise which makes it pretty much unusable.

Can you try it with another sound card? Looks like it's a sound card-specific problem...

Ok,

So sidechain compression whilst the mic is activated is not an option then?  Do you think this could be implemented in the future for those of us that want an automated way of ducking music to vocals ITB whilst controlling our mic signal outboard?  i.e leave the mic toggle on, use the desk faders to bring up/down the vocals and duck the music in radioBOSS dynamically against the vocals?

Regards
