pre-listen soundcard settings

Hi!
Have now a Terratec Aureon 7.1 in use as main soundcard.
All works perfekt, i can select front, rear, center,... output, and I can hear the audio signal always at the right output connector.

If i select a soundcard for Pre-Listen-Output i can only use front speakers and all the other are the same.
So if i select rear, center,... i hear the signal always on rear output connector.
Is that right???
I will use center output for pre listen, but it will not work :(

Have also tested other soundcards, used newest drivers with Windows 7, but it's always the same?
Thanks :)

Maybe 7.1 speaker assignment has to be activated somehow in the sound card's control panel. Usually sound cards have options for 2/4/6/8 channel modes and maybe it's not set to 4ch mode so that's why only front/rear pairs available - you should check that.

Then in Windows Control Panel click Sound, select your device, click Configure button (at the bottom) and make sure 7.1 speaker assignment selected. Click next and perform speaker test. If it works, RadioBOSS should work with those speakers too.

Hi!
I am not sure that the soundcard works correctly with windows 7?
So i change to my SB Audigy and set to 6 speakers in control panel, but it is the same?
Or did 5.1 only support front and rear?
Thanks  :)

5.1 is 6 speakers, 3 pairs. One of the pairs is Center/LFE - some cards do not allow to use it, so there are only 2 usable pairs left: Front and Rear.

To be able to use Side speakers configure your sound card to use 7.1 surround.

I've checked on your sound card (Terratec Aureon 7.1) and it should work fine with Windows 7. You should check its settings (speaker configuration in particular). If you're using digital output (SPDIF) make sure your receiver supports multichannel input.

They offer drivers to download and tech specs say that it supports Windows 7.

It seems this one doesn't support Windows 7 - this could be a cause why RB can not use all the speaker pairs.
