Contact Closures?

If my satellite network sends contact closures at the start/end of a program, or when they play a fixed length commercial break, is there anyway I can take advantage of those incoming contact closures in RB?  I would like to use them to either turn the network (LineIN) on or off and/or to automatically trigger my local break to play.

How does it send contact closures, eg is there any special device, or it work with COM port?

Currently RB doesn't include this kind of feature... There are some custom versions where it's implemented, but no universal solution available.
